We got stuck in York with the snow, and rather risk it late at night we found this place. They were happy to accomodate us at such short notice and were very helpful with luggage etc. The breakfast was very extensive, including a full English for only £7.50! More

Stayed for four nights in November while I was moving house to York, really enjoyed getting to know the staff and the area for the first time. Staff were very courteous and friendly, room was clean and everything straightened and replaced every day. Must have put on a stone from breakfasts, full cooked every day, always tasty. Nice bar downstairs... More

Stayed recently with a group of mates in a big rooms, found the experience comfortable and very nice. Staff were helpful, seemed quite young, one guy seemed to be on the whole weekend we were there though. He was very helpful though with direction and at breakfast and check-in. Breakfast was nice all we could eat for about five pounds... More

Came down to York for my step-sisters wedding in October, was held at the Churchill Hotel so this was ideally placed. Only live about an hour from York so didn't see the point booking anywhere too pricey, chose this because it was cheap and nearby, wasn't expecting a great deal from a cheap guest house other than a bed for... We were a group of 6 family members . First impressions of ill-kempt, tatty and uncared for were soon proved right. Initally the booking for 2 twin bedded rooms was done as 2 doubles and the only alternative was 2 twin beds and 2 bunk beds in 1 room with leaky radiator, no mattress covers and badly stained floors. On... More

All I can say is to take no notice of the snobs that want a 5* hotel. Maybe they should book into the Hilton if they want 5* luxury. It's a B&B, you're not going to stay in York to spend all day in your room. It's a bed and breakfast, with a friendly bar downstairs. Get over yourselves and... More

We saw this property on the hotel inspector and after it's refurbishment seemed to be exactly what we were looking for, being a family of 8. On entry, what should have been a beautiful flagstone entry was absolutely putrid. We initially booked for 3 nights but had to leave after one night due to the total unclean conditions that we... Good location. If traffic noise bothers you it probably isn't for you. We checked in for three nights and only saw staff once so don't expect to have your trash emptied or your toilet paper replenished unless you are ok with walking into one of the open rooms yourself to grab another roll when needed. It's a cute room and... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We should point out for future guests that there is always a member of staff working between 7:10am and 10pm. There is not always a staff member at reception as all our staff are trained in every area of work and can be doing any number of other jobs around... More

I stayed here with 3 friends and we found the B&B to be great. We had two twin rooms and both rooms were very well laid out perfectly to maximise space and fit in all the necessities, with very clean & crisp white manchester and shower with good temperature and pressure. The reception were very accommodating and the breakfast was... More
