Do not stay here unless you are used to living like a tramp. The windows were falling out and had huge gaps between the panes. Curtain pole hanging down at one side. Bed leg broke and matress so thin you would of been better sleeping on the floor ( thats if it was clean). Shower filthy and hairs in sink.... More

The hotel is in a fantastic place just a 10 mintue walk away from the city walls.....the room however, was dirty and small, the shower room was tiny and smelt really bad and the shower was dirty (as if the smell wasnt bad enough) so much so we didnt shower during are 2 days there 😞. The bed was as... More

A friend & I shared a twin room and it is the worst hotel I have slept in. Scruffy, in parts dirty. The shower was not clean, other peoples toiletries still in the shower! The whole place needs painting. The entrance hall was filthy, the street was cleaner! The staff were friendly, I could not believe how the advertising of... More

Had a good time here, almost didn't stay as read some negative views, however the staff were really welcoming, we had a choice if 2 rooms, we chose room 18, it was great for the night and the bedding was all lovely and clean, had a kettle and complimentary tea etc. en suite was small but fine. Excellently situated as... More

I was pregnant and fed up so, at the very last second, me and my boyfriend decided to spend one night and two days in York for shopping and sightseeing. We found this hotel on lastminute.com so we didn't pay very much at all. It wasn't even worth the £35. Our room wasn't in the main building. It was outback... More

We recently stayed for a weekend but ended up checking out at 4am!the room was a budget double so the size (a cupboard)wasn't a problem but the cleanliness definitely was!there was grubby concrete floors in the hall but this was better than the carpets.the radiators and walls had something brown splashed on them in every room and the cobwebs were... The website looked fine but on arrival they did not expect us and had no note of our booking despite me having a written confirmation. The room was tiny and little room to turn around in the ensuite. The room and bed linen was clean but the reception area and hallways were dirty and littered. a massive disappointment and if... More

Didn't book this myself but as part of a group planned 2 nights in a twin. Only stayed 1 night, couldn't face a 2'nd. Room faced the road. Single glazed window and very noisy. Room was very small and a weird shape due to the addition of the bathroom just inside the door. No wardrobe. No headboard. Extension leads and... More

As a family of 2 adults and 3 kids we stayed in room 5, a family room. On arrival we entered through front door to see filthy walls and the floor has obviously never seen a mop or bleach. It was cracked and filthy, looked like it belonged outside!! Reception was a broom cupboard at best!! All the carpet up... More

This should be lovely, the building is periodic and location ideal. Stayed here previously in the Annex rooms which seemed okay, the main rooms tell a different story. Where do I start? The bathroom (size of a wardrobe) smelt of an ashtray and had numerous stains down the wall resembling urine, the sink was in the bedroom, the light pull... More
