Our stay at Blossoms was an overall pleasant experience. The service was great and they were helpful and polite in any circumstances. Blossoms is situated at a very close walking disctance to the city centre, yet in a quiet area with available private parking. The room was very clean which I personally make a point to verify. The best point... more

The only positive thing that can be said about the place is that it is well located, a 5 min walk to the center., and that it has parking. All the rest was completely negative. We had 2 rooms, both rooms had dirty toilets when we checked in. One had , sorry for being so graphic, dried feces remains, the... more

We stayed here because of the great location (10 min walk to city centre) and free off-road parking. Our room was small - but clean and comfortable. We had a room a the back of the house, and there was no street noise. The staff were helpful and friendly, and let us park there until 2pm the next day (after... more

We chose Blossoms because of the location, a short walk from the city walls and the off-road parking. The staff were friendly but .. Our room (9) was very small and narrow and you can see from the layout of the building and the number of rooms that there must be others which are either identical or very similar. I... more

Management response from
BlossomsYork, manager

Being situated in a grade II listed Georgian Townhouse, all our rooms vary in size and layout. Room 9 - the room in question - is one of our budget rooms. They are sold for a recession-beating price for people who would rather use more of their hard-earned cash on enjoying our fantastic city. We also offer standard rooms for...

It's also really good accommodation for backpackers who are looking for good accommodation at an affordable price. We were not expecting this level of accommodation for the price that we paid. Friendly staff too who are also very helpful. more

The photos on the website don't really do this place justice, the rooms are well designed, impecably clean and full of mod-cons. The only problem was finding the motivation to leave the beautiful surroundings and explore York. As for the location it is a little bit of a walk from the train station , but it's close to the Shambles... more

I stayed 5 nights with my 11 year old daughter. We were very pleased with the location (a short walk to the gate) and our room. We stayed in a front ground floor room . No street noise. Staff exceedingly helpful. Free computer with internet access in the breakfast room. Small room and bathroom but equipped with adequate shelves. Shabby... more
