From arrival to departure, we were well looked after! The guest house and room itself were immaculate. Staff were so friendly and obliging - with nothing any bother! Breakfast was more than ample as was the facilities within the room and the guest house. Having visited York for over 4 years and stayed at a wide variety of places, we... more

Like others I wanted to stay in a 5 star guest house and chose this one from the reviews here. Check in times are rather odd as there seems to be no one there in the afternoon so when I arrived at 4.00pm we had to use a code to get our key from a safebox outside. After letting the... more

A lovely double room with a twin room attatched. Slept soundly knowing no-one could get to our child without getting past us.Superb facilities with lovely toiletries. The staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble! Lovely eating places within walking distant. Close enough to the city to be handy, but far enough away to be peaceful. trampoline, swings etc in the... more

What a great find, had 2 nights very relaxing and a great base to explore York. Would go again. If you like large chains, this is not the place for you, but if you like quality of a high standard, rooms with a difference, and home comforts then this is the place for you. more

Bishop's is about 15 minutes walk from the station, down a road where it seemed every other building was a B&B, but I'm glad out of all of them we picked Bishops. Because the room prices are so reasonable we went for the Rose Suite to get little bit more space and comfort. Its on the top floor, over looking... more

We had the Oak Suite with our children. The seperate room with bunk beds & TV was ideal for the children. The main bedroom/sitting room exceeded our expectations, it was quite luxurious, with doors opening onto a patio area for our use. The garden could be accessed from this patio, which meant we could keep an eye on the trampoline... more

We stayed 3 nights in the Rose Suite. Staff were welcoming, informative and friendly. Hotel room was spotless. Breakfast excellent quality and good choice. Easy walk to the City Centre, around 10 mins. but after a day's sightseeing, we needed a taxi ride to get back. Parking available on forecourt. A reservation was arranged for us at The Lime House... more

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Bishops and cant really fault the place. The owners were away on holiday ,but the lady in charge was superb. She couldnt have been more helpful and worked her socks off at breakfast times. The room we had was the cheapest of the family rooms on offer and would have been more... more

Initially booked for 3 nights but eventually stayed for 6,the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Great location for city centre, 10 min walk or easy bus ride. On arrival the reception was very welcoming and took time to explain all aspects of York from sight seeing, restaurants, bus routes to friendly pubs. Couldn't fault the breakfast which... more
