I took my boyfriend to York for a weekend for his birthday, and found the Apple House online. Compared to the prices of some of the more generic city centre hotels, the Apple House proved to be better value for money. The location is fantastic, 10 mins walk from Mickelgate and about 15 to the city centre. The large car... more

Had a 2day break for visit to friend/sightseeing. Apple house easy to find, large car park, convenient for city. Room small (but as I was a single traveller, that didn't matter), clean, well furnished with a small but adequate bathroom and exceptionally comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty with fruit, cereal, yoghurt etc. also available. Pam was very friendly... more

We were a family of five staying in York overnight and we chose this B&B as they were able to accommodate us all in one suite. We had a great suite with two rooms, one had a bunk bed and the other a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We found this accommodation comfortable... more

Just returned from the Apple house York. We stayed 2 nights in room 9 which is on the top floor. The room is nicely furnished and overlooks the main road. The room is a bit small for the amount of furniture it has in it but on a plus side there is plenty drawer space and a wardrobe. This room... more

Me and my husband have just come back from a 3 night stay. It was a run of the mill b and b and we thought the price of £85 a night was far too much. Although it appears that other people paid less which is a bit annoying as we booked through Late Rooms. The room itself was ok... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel between the 28th Feb and 2nd March 2008. We had booked a special deal through the tourist information centre which gave us three nights bed and breakfast for £150 (compared to roughly £70 per couple per night). The guest house was easy to find and included a free car park which is... more

We had a family room "to sleep up to six". It was a small double with a box room off which had a set of bunks and a rollaway on the floor and a travel cot available. The box room was like a fridge even with the heating on and the children did not want to sleep in it. The... more

Stayed on a bargain 3 nights for the price of 2 in January. Great location just ten minutes to centre and fantastic little restaurants round corner. Room was warm and very clean, Flat screen TV and dvd player and the duvet was soo snuggly. Cr park is huge - loads of space. Breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked with something... more

We stayed at the Apple House for a Friday and Saturday night recently, and the experience was great all round. The room was lovely - good size, nicely decorated and furnished and with a TV with whizzy built-in DVD player. Very friendly and helpful owner, 10-15 minutes to all the sights. For the money, this was a real find and... more
