We had a very noisy room on the first floor next to the lifts, outside our window was the staff smoking area of the bar next door which was also noisy. The room was simple but okay, they need to upgrade the 14" portable TV though. The breakfast was basic and crowded with tables right up to the serving counter... more

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Queens with my youg son. Plus points- great location within easy walking distance of main tourist destinations and shops. Room 46 has a lovely view over the river and is clean and bright with large flat screen TV. Staff are friendly and helpful. Price is very reasonable for York. Down Sides... more

We stayed here for one night, and it has been said many times, has a great location ! Within walking distance of the main attractions. There does seem to be a discrepancy however in the description of some of the rooms! Our double room(57a) was very small and had the smallest portable tv ever! The bathroom was also very small and... more

The other reviews are accurate and fair. The location is convenient for visiting York's major attractions and if you don't want to walk there are several bus stops quite near. We were 2 elderly ladies having a weekend break and found taxis were reasonable and easy to find. The hotel is clean, if a bit dated in its decor. The... more

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Right on river and 7 mins easy walk from rail station. 2 mins walk across the bridge and you are in city centre. Entrance to hotel is not on main street but down side street. Small but well staffed reception where you can leave your bag if you arrive early or leaving late.... more

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Queens Hotel. I travelled with 3 children and it was perfect. Very central for all the tourist spots and close to the train station. (Left car at home as train is so cheap and I knew I would not need it whilst in York) Room overlooked the river and so was perfect.... more

As the title implies, we never actually got to stay at the hotel. I thought it best to make the booking via e-mail as I've been let down with telephone bookings before. They were very prompt to respond with availability and a price. I replied in the evening asking to make a booking. Unbeknown to me, in the morning they... more

This was a nice hotel if the decour a bit flowery for my taste, staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for shopping and nightlife and very easy to find. Plus they directed us to the cheapest parking in York. Bonus!!! Would stay again, although my favourite is still the Ramada Encore. more
