Stayed in the Bloomsbury for 2 night last month, great place, just outside the center of town, conveniently located. Clean spacious rooms, good breakfast, charming home. I highly recommend it. The owes are gracious and helpful and truly care about their B & B...Would definitely return.

Stayed here after being booked in by a small tour company I was travelling with & can say without doubt was one of the Best guesthouse/B&B I had stayed in. Steve & Tricia made me very welcome the minute I arrived & gave us invaluable info for our ventures into York. was close enough to walk into the city via... More

We were four cyclists on our way across England and arrived in the Bloomsbury on September 10th. Our bikes were locked up and Steve gave us good advice about the city. Bloomsbury is a lovely place, friendly, comfortable and with great advice about eating and drinking in the city. After a great breakfast we were on our way. Steve and... More

We stayed at the Bloomsbury for 5 nights and it lived up to the reputation given in previous reviews. We were treated like old friends. The breakfasts were excellent and our room very quiet. Steve and Tricia went out of their way to see we had a good time visiting York. We had just finished the 200 mile coast to... More

This establishment lives up to its reputation. Steve & Tricia made us very welcome the minute we arrived & gave us invaluable info for our ventures into York. This is a large Victorian house which is very tastefully decorated & was close enough to walk into the city via the river Ouse. Location, room & breakfast were all absolutely first... More

I stayed at the Bloomsbury for 2 nights this August and I could feel at home from the 1st step into this beautiful guesthouse to the last moment to say “see you again” at my departure . I was welcomed by Steve and lovely Harvey. I really regretted having had already a big cuppa at York station when Steve offered... More

Hi Izumi Thanks for a lovely, and comprehensive review, and also for posting the photo's. Harvey looks cute!. Also it's great to know that you'll be returning to the UK next year and we look forward to seeing you in York. We'll keep our Beatles cd safe so you can hear it again :) Steve and Tricia Yoroshiku onegaiishimasu More

The Bloomsbury is a truly classy guesthouse. Beautifully decorated, and impeccably ran by Trish and Steve who really cannot do enough for their guests. We had a beautiful room on the top floor with a lovely view over the back gardens...big trees, very peaceful. Very good location for a nice stroll into the centre of York to sample the local... More

We felt very welcome staying at the Bloomsbury. Steve and Tricia go the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable and "at home" in every way. We were pleased we'd chosen the Bloomsbury, their warm manner made York a very enjoyable and memorable place to visit. The location is good, about a mile-an easy flat walk into the city. Spotlessly... More

It is obvious that the proprietors of The Bloomsbury are very dedicated to their B&B and to the city of York and its history. They are friendly and welcoming and the building has been renovated to a high level and the standard of hygiene is very high. As previously mentioned by other reviewers, the rooms are named after flowers, we... More
