Stayed for friends hen do. Excellent location for easy access to centre restaurants and bars. Rooms of good standard, clean and well maintained. Our room was very spacious. Although room s were very warm but was a fairly warm weekend when we stayed. We had an issue with electrics In our room though when we had straighteners/ hair dryers on... More

To be fair, we'd stay the previous 2.5 weeks in amazing BnBs all over England and Ireland. York was an overnight stop, and we weren't looking for charm or history. Which was a good thing, because neither were in appearance at the TL. It was a hotel chain, and for a hotel chain it was clean and newish. It just... More

I stayed here for two nights with relatives from Canada. Ideally situated for the Railway Station and only a short walk into town. The staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in and gave us a map to help us find all the tourist attractions. We booked breakfast in the hotel which was great value but if you don't want... Stayed here for a week on business and had a really pleasant stay. Check in was excellent and really friendly with addition to being given a map of all things to do and see in York. The room was clean however was a little scruffy around the edges and splash marks on the wall were indicative of a few pre-drinking... More

I stayed here for one night with my friend on the weekend and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great location, it's a 2 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants in the centre of York. The hotel doesn't have a car park so you have to park on the multi-storey which is only round the... More

Friendly staff, well maintained clean and comfortable room, well situated for all City centre visits and a pleasant stay :). This is our 3rd stay at Travelodge Micklegate and it wont be our last, York has so much to offer the visitor that staying here you don't have to think about where you are staying just concentrate where you are... We paid only 75 Pounds for a family room, that too, during weekend. Their rates must change wildly, going by the other reviews. Well, it was the centre of the town, walking distance to almost everywhere. There is a car park right opposite and good restaurants nearby. Budget hotels in UK tend to have tiny rooms and bathrooms, so I... More

Bed great & clean. Carpet. Fraying at threshold strips. Table looked battered & heat stained. Bathroom: Great looking design shower room but extractor fan not working so some black mould in shower and the sealant to floor tiles peeled back & a bit grotty. Pluses.... Window was triple glazed so little street noise. No noise from other guests Portable desk... More

OK, I know that hotels put their prices up in high season at weekends in busy tourist locations, but £149 for a double room is expensive enough anywhere to give expectation of a good night's sleep, a decent breakfast, and polite service. Sadly we didn't get any of these. Our room was near the corner of the building, at a... More

First thing do not book during race weekends! The crowds and the late noise were terrible. Cost was tripled for our one night 180 we got a better deal in London at a Hilton! Room was clean and quiet, but hot because we had to keep our window closed (we were facing the Main Street). Had to go down to... More
