Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend between work travels. It is an ideal base to see around York with only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. I was made very welcome - even though I arrived early in the afternoon and was looked after well throughout my stay. The room was small but adequate - I... More

First of all, the guest house owner was really kind and he made us feel really comfortable.Regarding the room,it was really comfortable and it could easily be more expensive but luckily it was a normal price. It also had a really nice view. The only thing that I didnt like was that the room had only shower and we had to share... The best B&B in York is run by Kevin, The Foss Bank, we arrived early which was not a problem. We had room 2 with a lovely ensuite, a comfy bed, fresh milk on the tea tray, and everything was clean neat and tidy, and as the room is at the back it was also nice and quite. Nothing is... More

Stayed for 2 nights for my 50th birthday and and could not fault it. Arrived much earlier than expected and the owner Kevin was more than happy for us to leave the car in the private car for the day before checking in and even after checking out. The room was spacious, lovely comfy bed and en suite with big... More

Treated so well, as always, Kevin the owner is willing to help in any way he can, including carrying cases upstairs. Lovely room ,2 is my favourite, comfy bed, very quiet, and then waking to an excellent breakfast all freshly prepared. Kevin also has huge knowledge of York and can give directions to any point of interest. Foss Bank is... More

This was a return visit and I wont hesitate to go back again. Foss Bank is an extremely comfortable place to stay. The breakfasts are great - including boiled egg and soldiers if you want them and if I could bring my bed home with me I would.

I was fortunate to book a room for one Saturday night at Foss Bank. It is well situated for the city centre being only a 10 minute walk away. Car parking is either on street with a permit issued on arrival or in the private car park with limited space. The property is very well presented and tastefully furnished. My... More

Myself and my partner stayed here over the weekend and what an amazing time we had. We were greeted by Kevin owner of the guest house with a warm friendly welcome. The guest house was fully booked which Kevin apologised we had the small double room. We expected a small room with no room for movement however it was a... More

Great base to explore York on foot with added bonus of free carpark. Comfy and spotlessly clean room with a lovely big bath for me to wallow in! Fab friendly host and excellent breakfasts. Would highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Kevin!
