Stayed for two nights with my sister for her hen weekend. Arrived to find the family room we were staying in had no electricity. Reported this a young man on Reception who attemped to rectify this whilst multi tasking, booking in guests and serving in the bar. When asked if there was another room available we were advised they were... more

Wish i could say something nice on this hotel. When we shut the hotel front door the handle fell off, and was not replaced. The rooms had not been cleaned correctly. I put my book on the bedside cabinet, only to have it covered in dust. Breakfast was ok ish, staff need to be educated on how to treat guests... more

I don't want to be mean and turn away business for these people but then I have to think that they didn't bother to give us anything good so why shouldn't I voice my opinion? After reading so many bad reveiws we wanted to cancel our booking and stay somewhere else. We didn't though, after all how bad can a... more

As the Hotel is on the A19 main route into York I had tried to make sure that we had quiet rooms when I booked. Could not sleep after 5.00 in the morning because of traffic noise. We were booked for 3 nights but left after 2. First mornings breakfast included a sausage which was still too pink in the... more

Booked hotel on internet. Pictures did not describe what it was really like! Car park awful and difficult to maneouvre in. Was greeted by old furniture stored in alleyway access to car park. Outside the entrance to the hotel the floor was covered with cigarette stumps. Receptionist indifferent. The room was awful and dirty with thick dust on venitian blinds... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during the York Ebor racing festival. We left it rather late to book and this hotel looked ok on its website - we had to pay a premium (double the normal tariff) to stay during the racing festival! When we got to the hotel, the receptionist was very miserable and uninterested -... more

We visited this, 'hotel, bar and restaurant,' in mid August. On arrival it was obvious that there was no bar; in fact the bar area was locked behind a metal grill and the restaurant had shut down. So basically you’re paying for a B&B and nothing else..... HOTEL??? The location is very good with a gentle stroll of about 10... more
