We were very disappointed with the standard of this hotel. We shabby carpets, paintwork and furnishings were about three decades old. The meal in the restaurant was average, bland and not of a good standard. A very disappointing stay! more

Breakfast selection is adequate but the evening dinner leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress left the menu and did not return to take an order for at least 20 minutes. I could not say that the restaurant was over busy. When the order was given it was at least 15 - 20 minutes before 2 cold starters arrived... more

Chose this hotel as we were looking for a night stop over to break up the bank holiday weekend. Check in great, received an upgrade great, room great. Before going out in the evening, we stopped to have a drink at the bar while our cab arrived, ordered a glass of wine - £6.99 for the house wine!!! It is... more

We have stayed in some very nice places and some not so nice in York. This hotel comes under both unfortunately, as the first room we were given (standard room - normal price £129.99) was not up to standard. very small, fairly dated and cobwebs everywhere, not to mention the mold on the bathroom ceiling. Fortunately, after a few harsh... more

Just spent two nights at holiday inn, we found the hotel to be very good value for the price we paid (£100) for two nights in an executive room. The room was a little small but clean and tidy, we had everything we needed, iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee, safe, there was also a mini bar(didn't use as we couldn't find a... more

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip. The Reception staff where very nice and approachable. The room was nice and clean (though strangely the flush on the loo was not very effective). Location is a good bit out the town centre but at least this meant the place was quiet. The food let the hotel down, room... more

My Wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn York for 3 nights, 2 of which were booked through the amazing 2 nights for 1 which is currently being offered by the Holiday Inn chain of hotels (including Crowne Plaza and HI Express). We paid £49 for bed and breakfast for our 1st night (New Years Day night) and just... more

Really nice hotel, granted my better half did pay extra and upgraded the room which meant that we had slippers and bathrobes and a very large comfy room. Didn't like the look of the hotel from the outside but definately made up for it inside with onsite free car parking which is a bonus in York although maybe a little... more
