I stayed there during Jan09 for one night. The room was very well heated and smelled like a grandmother's room, which I liked. The TV kind of sucked though, it was on the tiny side and the quality was bad. I booked a family room so it was roomy. The windows open so I was able to attach a bag... more

Good location - just a few minutes' walk from the centre. The check-in was one of the best ever; very polite and given good directions to room. Problem with a door key (and a subsequent loss of a colleague's door key) were sorted out with ease. Room and bathroom clean and tidy. Mattress was soft and squishy but colleague's was... more

There have been several mentions regarding parking in reviews here. From using the expensive Castle Mills car park next to the hotel (horrible place). Or driving along to an NCP. But the answer is simple, directly opposite across the road from the front entrance to the hotel is Mill Street, at the end of that road (1 minute walk) is... more

Stayed here on a Saturday night. With the pub next door I wasn't expecting a quiet night but was pleasantly surprised! My room faced the river on the second floor and although I could hear the people in the pub smoking area chatting away into the evening but by 1030pm it was quiet and remained so for the night. Not... more

I stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip to York and had a good experience. The room was comfy and the location was excellent. It's nothing fancy, but it's not supposed to be either - it's a no-frills budget chain hotel, and for that purpose it was perfect. Having said this, there were a few cut corners that... more

Very pleasantly surprised by this travelodge. The location is just perfect, only a few mins walk and your in the heart of everthing. We found our hotel to be very clean, room was of a good size, and the bed very comfy. plenty of clean towels and tea/coffee and kettle. Next door, is a wetherspoons pub, which does great food at... more

I stayed here in Feb 2008 for 2 nights. Its ok but nothing special. Our room over looked the river and was away from the attached Wetherspoons. The room was small , cleanish and warm but defiantly rather worn and could use a lick of paint, bathroom passable but the the best. The best bit is the location. 5 to... more

We booked breakfast at £4.95 a time for two days (3 of us). When it came it was awful. Pre packaged rubbish.... a tiny pack of smoothie, a tiny horrid pack of milk and cereal - unedible... a choco bar of some sort... either tea or coffee - strange tea or coffee as it was available in the room anyway.... more

Definitely not a hotel to re-visit. There are no twin rooms, just a very hard sofa bed for one of the guests. The shower head was filthy, had to forgo a shower and wash at the sink. The staff were unhelpful, the linen for the sofa bed had to be requested twice and the facilities included one, meagre bar of... more
