Stayed here on Sunday night of the Bank Holiday weekend and treated myself and my wife to the Cumberland Suite! Amazing room with lovely views over the garden and the city walls and worth every penny. Hotel is in a great location for city centre exploring and is situated in a very quite area. All the staff were great from... More

I stayed at Grays Court Hotel a couple of months ago with my boyfriend for one night and have not had chance to write our review. We wanted to visit York and spend a day around the city and chose this hotel for our stay – great choice! It has history, a great location and very friendly attentive staff –... More

If your looking for a premier in type experience this is not the place for you. Stayed for a night with my wife on the 8th of August and had a fantastic time. We loved it. Food great, ambience great , staff great. And all in the shadow of Yorkminster. It's a nice change to relax somewhere that's not all... More

We had our wedding reception at Grays Court June 2014. We had been planning it with Rhiannon the event co-ordinator for about 18 months. Rhiannon and Chef Mike did all they could to make our day tailored to what we were hoping for. They listened to our ideas and made them happen. Grays is a wonderful building – being gently... More

Stayed as part of a wedding party. Their attention to detail was second to none and we felt extremely welcome. It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful house and gardens. The wedding breakfast was superb. Loved meeting the two resident dogs. Unfortunately the breakfast was extremely slow to arrive and the sausages were suspiciously pale, as was the... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and gosh what a treat. It is right next to the minster. There are only a small number of rooms. Ours was tastefully decorated and clean with some nice touches e.g. the shower could be turned on without getting sprayed with cold water. The breakfast was lovely. I had eggs benedict. The gardens... More

Stayed here for my partners graduation. We stayed in the Willoughby room and it was beautiful, lovely furnishings and extremely clean. Waking up and listening to the Minster chime....can't beat it. Only criticism is the lack of staff around. Went down to the bar with a couple of friends and couldn't find any staff so went out and also breakfast... More

I booked this hotel as the rest of York was full due to the Tour de France. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We had 2 rooms for the family and they were both lovely, The attention to detail was unexpected - Clarins bath supplies; excellent breakfast and lovely drinks in the Parlour. The gardens are beautiful mid-summer. I would... More
