Stayed for one night in Lady Pecketts room. Room was large with old/gothic style furniture. Bathroom was modern. The bed was really comfortable despite the slope on the room due to the old building. Well stocked hospitality tray with loads of tea and coffee. No hairdryer though so take one if you will be needing one. Room was clean but... More

Myself and my fiancée stayed Thursday 25th June. We arrived in York around 11.30amish, obviously too early to check in but the staff were kind enough to let us leave our luggage behind the bar while we visited a few of the quirky bars. We came back at 2.00pm and were given our room key. We stayed in lady Pecketts... More

After returning from a 3 night weekend stay, at the Golden Fleece, I must say it is not a place I will return to. I read reviews prior to my stay on Trip Advisor prior to booking, which helped me make an informed decision. How disappointing, we stayed in Catherines room, twin room, unfortunately it was dirty, no coat hangers... More

Just returned after spending two nights at this most unusual hotel. The staff were extremely friendly from walking through the door on arrival to leaving. Brilliant nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent. All freshly cooked for you. we didnt sample any of the other food but it all looked fantastic. We stayed in the Minster Room.with modern ensuite. Nothing... More

Went with my fiancé and stayed for one night in the shambles room which we loved. The atmosphere was great, the staff very friendly and they made a big fuss over us. One of my favourite places we've been. Loved the enormous breakfast :)

People stay at this accommodation to experience the 500 years of history. The floorboards are slopping, the joists creak, its dark with nooks and crannies, it is fabulous. It envelopes years of history with many stories to read about. You stay here for the atmosphere and you will not be disappointed. Each night there is a live band playing in... More

Came here on a Saturday evening, the food was good, not the best Yorkshire pudding I have had but good enough, great selection of beers too. Wished we stayed the night here instead but rooms were booked out
