My partner, his brother and girlfriend, and i all stayed at Ascot House for one night. We went on our motorbikes and were very impressed with the secure parking and welcome we got. The proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions of where to visit in York. The hotel is in a good location and is beautiful inside.... more

After reading excellent reviews of this Guest House my husband & I went for a romantic Easter break. The Guest House is in a good location with a 20 minute stroll to the Town. There is a Co-Op opposite with a Boots Chemist a 5 minute walk on the main road. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.... more

We stayed two nights at the Ascot House, taking a triple room as we were traveling with our college-age son. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from downtown York and has off-street parking, something many York B&B's do not have. The street is quiet, and the hosts very gracious and accommodating. The bed wasn't the most comfortable in the... more

I stayed at Ascot House in January for a short weekend break and would recommend it to anyone considering a visit to York. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were also able to recommend things to do and where to eat which is a great help in a city which... more

Ascot House is a place of true class and quality. Breakfast is cooked to order and is deicious, especially when compared to buffet fayre. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfy and of high standard. The hosts are very helpful indeed. I would stay here again just for the breakfasts. The car park is too small and it is too... more

My wife and I along with our 3 children just returned from a great 2 week trip to the UK. We stayed at the Ascot House while visiting York. This is a very elegant, well run B&B. Our room had a large 4 poster bed plus 3 single beds. It was a bit tight but worked for us. Breakfast was... more

We stayed 3 nights at the Ascot House in a lovely four poster bedroom. The room and bathroom were small but manageable, and spotlessly clean. The hot shower with excellent water pressure was a big plus. The TV in the room was extremely small, would have liked a larger TV. The bed linens and towels were of very high quality,... more

I have only positive things to say about this beautiful and relaxing retreat. My stay was for 5 nights while I attended a conference outside York. The location was in the heart of a lavender-laden and archtiecturally rich residential district, an area perfect for walking to York and for commuting by bus to the conference site. My room was Victorian... more

I stayed in a single room with en-suite & found it all to be fine. I felt safe and comfortable as a single female traveleller as the door had a decent lock and the B&B is in a quiet residential area. Breakfast was fine. I would recommend getting a taxi from the train station as I started to walk but... more
