The Sycamore Guest House is very conveniently located for tourism. The house is nestled at the end of a quiet street with parking available for a modest price. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. Several dining options are a short walk away. Our en-suite room was comfortable and quiet and breakfast was delicious.

We stayed at the sycamore on 11 January for 1 night. There we're 4 couples and we all found the rooms good sizes and clean. The hosts of the sycamore were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was brilliant. Thanks for having us

Sadly my recent stay at the Sycamore Guest House was one of the most disappointing accommodation experiences I have ever had. We stayed in room 6 (described on hotel.com, as standard double – 2nd floor). I suggest you avoid this room if at all possible and definitely do not book this if you are looking for accommodation for a special... More

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at the Sycamore Guest House. The owners couldn't do enough for us in order to make our trip special. We stayed in Room 6, which had it's own toilet and was a decent size. The room was cleaned each day and fresh towels and bedding were provided upon request. The breakfast was... More

Two women, traveling alone, found comfort and safety, in this lovely surroundings. I would stay there entirely for a period of time. We were able to do walks to special places like Clifford Towers and the Quilt Museum. Walk back to the Sycamore to rest. Back to town for a Cornish Pastry to lunch and shop at the Shambles. Back... just returned from a short weekend in York. The Sycamore is clean and tidy, the breakfasts are great and filling. Just what we needed before a long days walking. We were made to feel very welcome by Elizabeth and Spyros and if we return to York, this will be first port of call

A lovely guest house. Elizabeth and Spyros were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The en-suite bedroom was a good size and nice and clean. A comfortable big bed and each day the room was cleaned and towels replaced. Breakfast was excellent and filling. Close to centre of York, with a pleasant five minute walk through museum gardens. Will be definite... More

My son and his girlfriend were due to stay at the sycamore on the 31St for two nights. Due to unforseen circumstances that were out of their control they were no longer able to make it. They cancelled the booking on the 24th and were still charged £140. I rang the sycamore to explain the situation on their behalf and... More

Me and my partner stayed at this lovely guest house on the 24/10/2014. It was our first time in York but we was made too feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the front door. The owners took care of us with no trouble and showed us some good places too visit during our stay. The rooms were traditional... More
