It is a good option for staying in York . Room is very comfortable and the breakfast is traditional English breakfast. Price is reasonable, you may find some cheaper option but you will get what you pay for. York is a nice City. more

This guest house is a short (10-15) minute walk from the Town Centre of York. The owners are super-friendly. The room I stayed in was very big, a double and 2 single beds, with en-suite and overlooking the park. We had a short stay at Burton Villa and it was very pleasant. Being a family of four visiting England from Greece, the landlord was extremely helpful, polite and did everything to make our stay a pleasant one - even talking to us in Greek each morning! I found this place on LateRooms but got a better deal phoning direct. Still wasn't cheap, £170 for two nights in a large en suite family room. I booked this B&B on Laterooms as it seemed to have quite good reviews. However I found the landlord to be pseudo-friendly (rather than genuinely friendly) and rather intrusive. Stayed here 12 March 2007. I had chosen it primarilly because I knew the location very well. The guest house is obviously a well loved family home as well as a business & you can feel that as soon as you walk in. Our hosts were exteremely friendly & gave us a map of York as soon as we arrived.... more
