Stayed for 2 nights at the end of Feb. Great location, friendly staff. Decent breakfast, we used the bar late one evening, nice friendly but unobtrusive lady serving just us. There is also a nice pub next door too. My only gripe and reason for 3 stars is that our room was far too small for a weekend stay. Never... More

My wife and I visit York quite often and after staying overnight at the Coach House have solved the problem of finding perfect accommodation in the heart of the city. From the welcoming complimentary tea and delicious cake to an absolutely stupendous breakfast, we could find no fault. Pretty rooms, a really comfortable bed, modern shower, seductive bar and charming... More

Dear Gelliroll thank you for your kind review, I'm very pleased you noticed our comfortable beds....so often when I stay in other hotels the beds are old????? even the very expensive hotels can have uncomfortable beds which is a shame because there is nothing worse than aches and pains when you get up in the morning! We had a lovely welcome with tea and cake. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable , beds very relaxing, shower new and everything well planned and clean. It is a quirky building which makes you remember Yorks history. The food was good and we would have been happy to stay longer. We plan to... More

Unable to tell you what the hotel was like but the reception we received on our arrival was totally unnecessary. Having booked well in advance we arrived around 4ish only to be told that my card had been declined and the owner, Julie, had removed the booking. I explained there would be no reason for this and asked if there... More
