Excellant location for sightseeing, rooms small, especially the bathrooms, however, everything you need is there. We were not happy with our first room in the attic, not much useabale floor space and nowhere to unpack your clothes properly if staying for more than 1 night, shower went hot and cold. However, they were happy to move us to a nicer... More

My wife and stayed for a one night stay in York, situated very close to the centre itself and ideal for a short stroll into town. The staff were very pleasant and really accommodating, we stayed in an outside flat which belongs to the hotel this was well appointed and clean. Highly recommended if visiting York a pleasant experience from... More

A really good find on internet. A warm welcome awaited. Lovely, clean comfy room. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Spotlessly clean throughout. Would love to return in the future.

I recently stayed at the Coach House York with 3 friends & we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a brilliant location, perfect for the city centre, shops, bars, restaurants & York Minster on the doorstep. We arrived at the hotel around 1030 on Saturday 12/07 & we instantly felt very welcome. We were given the keys... More

Lovely old building with plenty of oak beams. Small and intimate and ideally placed to walk around York. We visited because my daughter was looking at the university and we took the opportunity to have a good look around the centre of York to get a feel for the place. Our room was No 10 - not huge but with... More

I stayed here as part of a couple 28/6/14 for one night. There was a slight mishap with another couple who seemed to think they had booked a room through another operator but the booking hadn't actually gone through (the booking operators fault, not the hotel) These guests were very rude to me and my partner but the lady behind... My teen daughter and I recently stayed here during a month-long trip roaming through the continent and the UK. The hotel is very picturesque---definitely an historic building, lovingly attended to by the owner and staff. The ladies working at the hotel are uniformly friendly and helpful---we sat in the lounge every late afternoon for a restorative beverage and chat with... More

Very well located in a quiet road just a short stroll from the city centre. As I have mobility problems I requested the downstairs bedroom, which is at the rear of the building adjacent to the car parking area. A lovely room. Not overly spacious, but clean and welcoming. I was kindly offered the use of a mobility scooter that... More

The Coach House was a fabulous find - we were delighted with the large rooms - allowing us to stay comfortably with the family. Having to pay in advance, before the room could be confirmed, was somewhat of a new experience to us, however we understand the location may require this. We didn't get an immediate confirmation - and ended... More

Coach House Hotel is a great little hotel in central York, just five minutes walk from the city centre but on a quiet side street and almost adjacent to the river. The staff were very warm and friendly and we were welcomed upon arrival by tea and cake! Our room was lovely - not large but perfect for our needs... More
