We had just got married and were staying at a hotel round the corner. Nipped in to see if they had any spare car parking at the back of their hotel as we couldn't find any overnight parking. The woman on the desk was utterly rude. She told us to park on the car park at the bottom. When we... more

Have just got back from a short break and travelled to York by train which was a good idea for 2 reasons, the car park at the hotel is very small and would only accomodate about 6 cars which have to to be moved about on a regular basis (the staff do this and you have to hand in your... more

I reserved a Minster View room and my wife was delighted. The hotel is ideally located for frequent excursions/meanderings into the City centre, on foot. Food was good and plentiful and even the unplanned arrival of #2 son, hungry from University, did not add too much to our evening meal. I would always plan to stay here when in York. more

My wife and i have stayed at this lovely little place twice now. The hotel has charm, warmth and a good in-house resturant and bar. Great location, 10 minute walk from train station and 5 minute walk from the 'shambles'. The first time we stayed we found it by accident whilst driving around looking for somewhere to stay the second... more

Nice hotel in good location - within a few minutes of Minster. Very comfortable bed. Rather creaky floorboards, though. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cooked breakfast. more

We have just returned from spending two nights at the Coach House Hotel and to be honest we could not fault it. The hotel is in a great location just minutes walk away from the Minster. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the staff were without exception all very friendly. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection of... more

This is listed as a B&B but has a bit more of the impersonal feel of a hotel. Instead of a family couple running the place, they have hired staff to work the desk and a chef in the kitchens. This isn't necessarily a drawback as long as you don't expect the intimate charm of a family run B&B. Located... more

We were lucky to find a vacancy in this hotel such is its popularity. We had just urgently checked out of the Minster Hotel in York which is a disaster (see TripAdvisor Reviews). We then found Julie Thompson's Coach House Hotel, round the corner and centrally located.. The reception we received was fantastic we were made to feel like old... more
