I've stayed here a few times for various conferences, including during a referb' Never had a bad stay, with friendly staff, clean rooms and good food. However I wouldnt say that it was a 'very good' hote, but I think 'average' is a bit harsh - If I could I would award this 3.5 stars. If was in York on... More

Prompt check-in on a busy friday, changed room for us when the first was next to the lift, friendly helpful staff, good warm room in cold weather (snow part way through the weekend too!). Efficient service and very thoughtful restaurant staff who made my parents a personalised dessert for their golden wedding anniversary. Thank you - couldn't have asked for... More

We stayed at the marriott at the beginning of January. Our welcome from the reception staff was very warm and friendly, and they were all very helpful. We paid an extra £10 each for breakfast, and thought that was worth the money. The restaurant was very pleasant and overlooked York Racecourse, and the staff very friendly. It was very quiet... More

We had a lovely stay at the Marriott again. We were bumped up to a garden view room and a birthday card and chocolates were brought to the room. Very comfortable bed and great breakfast. It's a long walk into town, but its a really lovely hotel. More

We stayed at the Marriott York for a couple of days, to have a family birthday lunch [ at the Fox and Roman nearby ]. Check-in was prompt and helpful for us, though other family members found it slow. The rooms were pleasant but a bit tired, CRT tv, average toiletries, but £15 daily charge for internet. WHAT A RIP-OFF!... More

Sadly this hotel was not as good as we hoped. The pool is very small and overcrowded and it feels more like a holiday camp than a nice hotel. The prices for such an averagey experience are too high. Most importantly, my little boy left his DS in the room when we left. Look, we are pretty sure it was... More

Eventually given quiet room overlooking lawns. Stayed for bed and breakfast. Buffet breakfast had reasonable choices. Some people who came down late for breakfast had to wait some time before being seated. We had seen and heeded a sign at reception warning about the delays. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. We left the car at the hotel and took... More

When we arrived in our room it was freezing cold. The heating system was a blower which was over the radiator which was extremely noisy and dried the air out instantly. Draughts were blowing through the curtains and the bathroom was absolutely freezing with no radiator. Obviously other people had complained as there was an oil filled radiator in the... More

I visited the hotel on a Living Social spa day deal. It was very difficult to get booked as it seemed everyday was fully booked, we did manage to get a Sunday in January in the end. When calling the spa number to book the answer phone picks up and your calls are not replied to. On arrival the guy... More
