Me and my partner went here for his birthday for a long weekend. I picked us to stay in the queens room which was a 4 poster bed. It was huge with the bathroom and bedroom merged as one! This was ok but expect no privacy! As we are a couple it didnt matter. The toilet was in a separate... more

We stayed at Knavesmire Manor with a group of friends. Initially we had been booked into one of the "garden rooms" however when we went into the room the smell of stale cigarette smoke was overpowering. We opened the windows but it didn't help any. We asked if we could change our room and were given one in the main... more

After reading some of the reviews was a bit concerned, having booked a weekend at the races. However, really enjoyed the stay. The evening meal was excellent and staff were very helpful. Stayed in one of the four poster bedrooms which was adequate the toilet and shower room was a bit small but ok. The decor was a bit tired... more

Booked this for my boyfriend's 30th birthday as it looked like a lovely old-style hotel. However, a disgruntled receptionist took us to our room after blithely telling us the pool was out of use, and it was a chalet style affair in the car park. Windows weren't properly fitted, so there was a draught blowing through, and we could quite... more

Upon arriving at the hotel we were both very tired from the drive, a friendly face would have been nice - instead we got a sour one. The staff seemed unwilling to crack a smile for any reason, and made you feel like you were putting them out. Getting to our luxury 4-poster room, we stared, unbelieving at the decor.... more

On arrival the owner was very welcoming informing us that she had a private party in the dining room that night (Fri) so it would be closed to residents, not to worry it was only a 20min walk into town. We were early so understandably our room was not ready. This (we found out) was to be one of the... more

Small cold room overlooking the busy main road and race course across the road. Noisy because one of the window catches on the double glazed window was missing! Staff in reception not very welcoming. Towels in the bathroom were damp and had not been changed from the previous occupant. On day one the swimming pool was out of order due... more

Stayed for two nights at the Knavemire Manor, the Hotel is opposite the race course, this is good if you are looking for this convenience. The problem is that it is on a main road which is very busy, so the rooms at the front of the Hotel hear the road noise and it can be very noisey. The second... more

Beware. This hotel is supposed to have garden style rooms. They are car park style rooms as they are literally on the car park. the room we stayed in had a shower you could not control - very hot to freezing cold. there is an extractor fan going constantly which is very noisy. Dont book and evening meal there -... more
