Just had a long weekend at the Kilima Hotel. It is an old type building with dated but character filled rooms (sqeaky floorboards included). It was as described a 10 minute walk to the City walls. The staff were very efficient and helpful and the pool and sauna were brilliant - even though the hotel was full we still had the... more

Booked 6 weeks in advance, and a frequent Best Western card holding customer, and given the worst room in the hotel. Trees growing immediately outside the window meant you had to have the lights on all the time. The swimming pool filtration system outlet was right outside the window and the continuous drone from it went on day and night.... more

My Mum and I stayed here for 4 nights and thought it was a charming little hotel. I booked it while we were in London and so I went simply by its location and its charming look. We took a taxi from the train station and upon our arrival we were upgraded to the largest room they had. It used... more

The Kilima was an excellent venue for our 2 day business meeting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet location but within walking distance of the historic centre of York. Will definitely visit again. more

Stayed at this hotel for a night. Excellent, effiecient greeting at reception, and we were shown around the hotel before being shown to the room which was really nice. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was excellent and very welcome after a day's sightseeing. It also opens early in the morning so a swim before... more

My sister booked this room for us frantically trying to get a last minute deal. The hotel was reasonably priced and very close to the town of York, excellent for sightseeing (10minutes walk and you are at the old gates). The room was the same as another guest mentioned with 4 poster bed and living room, huge, more suited to... more

Well, we were booked in for 3 nights. We stayed 2, it was awful. The hotel was lovely, but the room really let it down. The Bed was like Rock, we couldn’t sleep, was a tiny double bed that sunk in the middle so me and the hubby rolled in the middle. The windows were painted shut, and the radiator... more

I stayed on business at the Kilima for two nights in July. The hotel was a quick walk from the centre and convenient for the station, but situated on a busy road. As my window was not double glazed, the noise might disturb people who don't plan to get up before rush hour. The room itself had all the normal... more
