We stayed 2 nights at this conveniently located and well appointed bed and breakfast on the outskirts of York. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable Perhaps a bit pricey but possibly par for the course in this very popular tourist area and the breakfast was excellent. it is a pleasant 25 minute walk into... We stayed with our 2 children in the family room of this charming little B n B over Easter. The hotel was a convenient 20 minute walk into the city center of York. The walk along the river was one of the nicest walks that I have done in a long time. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the... More

Looking for a last minute hotel near York we called the limes to be helped over the phone booking. Great customer service and helped with our questions about local transport for the evening. Our room was spacious and would be perfect for a family as there were bunk beds available. Breakfast was substantial and great quality. Overall it was a... More

Just stayed for two nights, very welcoming owners nothing too much trouble. Room was clean, fairly well equipped although bathroom very small. Very handy for City centre. Can see they are trying to keep a traditional feel, it seemed quite dated though. My main disappointment was down to detail, the gardens around the entrance were very unkempt and looked scruffy,... Firstly I would like to thank you for posting a review on Tripadvisor. We hope that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your positive comments. I appreciate your constructive criticism but I would like to clarify a few points. Bearing in mind at this time of year most gardens do not look their best yet. I wish you... More

We just stayed for two nights at The Limes and we really enjoyed the hotel. It was very clean, warm and pleasantly appointed. The owners were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect. What more could you ask for? A great base for exploring the lovely city of York.

Stayed here for about two weeks as a part of a university trip in February 2015, and the stay was fantastic. The people running the place always greet you with a big smile if they pass you in the cozy hallways and there is a warmth to the people and the house that is wonderfull. Clean, good beds, nice bathrooms... More

My wife and I spent two nights here and where made welcome soon as we arrived. The room was very comfortable and warm. The breakfast was excellent and filled you up until late afternoon, it takes about 30 mins to walk into York so no need to take the car and worry about parking. We went on the open top... More

Stayed for two nights, lovely hotel, so clean and tidy. Very friendly staff and the breakfast was amazing. We would certainly go back there again. Such a warm welcome, fresh towels, a selection of tea & coffee, biscuits, sweets, raisins etc, all stocked up daily. Truly was a wonderful place. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs Lewis :-)

The Limes, York I stayed for three nights at The Limes in York in November 2014. The interior was charming and comfortable, like the home it once was. Although I was a single, I had a large room with a comfortable double bed. The bathroom was bright, clean, and functional. I ate the hearty English breakfast, served with a smile... More
