I havent a clue what some people are talking about when slating this hotel because to us, its by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel as a group of 9 ladies. I would say the rooms are modern and nice some are smaller then others, we has a nice bathroom with toiletries, there is an ironing board and Iron, hair dryers, kettle with the makings, TV and hairdryer. A very pleasant stay with a nice free upgrade to a beautiful room. The hot breakfast was delicious and arrived quickly; we regretted not trying the hotel restaurant (see review of La Vecchia Scuola). Views of York Minster from our third floor room are spectacular and the hotel is right in the hub of York. There is so much to do and see here and we have walked everywhere.
