A very comfortable and welcoming place to stay. A reasonable distance from York centre, which allowed us to take in the lovely buildings along the road, or take a pleasant stroll along the river. We packed as much as we could into our visit...being able to walk easily to all the sights. A lovely family run B and B. Comfy... More

Clean, reasonably comfortable, ideal for short stays. Limited parking which when you have a large car can be a slight issue. Good breakfast and plenty of it. York really close. recommend the dormouse pub 10 mins walk away.

Booked at the last minute, got a family en suite room. Couldn't fault the accommodation, comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast, friendly host and all close to the centre of York....My son is a fussy wee minion, but yet he ate everything he was offered at breakfast, decent sized portion that set us up for the day. Although the room faced onto... More

Up for a family celebration, we stayed here for 2 nights. We were warmly greeted by the owner, so good first impression, which was maintained throughout the visit. The room was clean and airy, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked, including very tasty sausage, and we did not feel over-full afterwards. We would certainly recommend this place, especially... More

Booked a double room for three nights, room seemed at first glance clean however on further inspection the headboard was very hairy, there were pubic hairs on the bedside cabinets and in the drawers. Our towels were not replensihed nor was the bed made for three nights.

I actually stayed here in March 2014 for about a week but forgot to do the review (sorry!). Lynne was very welcoming and informative about how to get to the centre and where to get a bus from etc. I had the single (non ensuite) room but no one else seemed to have use of the bathroom so it was... Recently had a short break (end of half term) and found Greenside of good quality and a friendly and amenable host in Lynne. The room provided an ideal base to explore York on foot with a great secure car park. Our breakfast needs were happily catered for and we really enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate in recommending Greenside... More
