Booked a double room for three nights, room seemed at first glance clean however on further inspection the headboard was very hairy, there were pubic hairs on the bedside cabinets and in the drawers. Our towels were not replensihed nor was the bed made for three nights.

I actually stayed here in March 2014 for about a week but forgot to do the review (sorry!). Lynne was very welcoming and informative about how to get to the centre and where to get a bus from etc. I had the single (non ensuite) room but no one else seemed to have use of the bathroom so it was... Recently had a short break (end of half term) and found Greenside of good quality and a friendly and amenable host in Lynne. The room provided an ideal base to explore York on foot with a great secure car park. Our breakfast needs were happily catered for and we really enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate in recommending Greenside... More

We stayed at greenside for 3 nights from the 20th to the 22nd of February and came back on the Monday. Got there after a 3 hour drive and was met by Lynne and a very warm welcome, the room was good and the breakfasts even better. With a walk of 15 minutes into the city centre it is ideally... More

We were encouraged by our travel agent to use a bed and breakfast pass. We did not know that we were very limited to where we could stay once we arrived in the UK. This was our first bed and breakfast we stayed at and to be honest, we were quite disappointed. The woman did not seem to trust us... More

We've stayed in York many times and Greenside is probably the cheapest B&B we've stayed in, but it's pretty good for the price. Our room was in an extension and was spacious and clean, the pillows were a bit lifeless but there were extra ones available. Parking in York can be nightmarish but Greenside has its own free secure off-road... More

My partner and i were greeted with a warm welcome from Lynn as we arrived early from the train station and she kindly let us leave our luggage safely whilst we explored York which was only a 15 minute walk into the centre, its also on a main road with a regular bus service and bus stop over the road.... Excellent value for money B&B run by Lynn who is both friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned every day to a high standard, breakfast is tasty, substantial and served freshly cooked. We highly recommend this guesthouse to any one wishing to have quiet accommodation a fifteen minute walk from the centre of York.
