We live not far from York, which is home to a famous tea room -BUT -watch out Betty's! The afternoon tea at Cedar Court is carefully served in gorgeous surroundings, by staff who care that you are enjoying the experience. When we were there last, a member of staff gave us a personal "tea tour", showing us the different types... More

York is one of my favorite cities in the UK, so I always plan a visit. I never found out why, but most of the B&B's were booked, so I decided to give myself a treat and stay at the Cedar Court. The location was great, only a short walk from the train and the city center. My room was... More

We stayed at this hotel en route whilst doing the "Way of the Roses" cycle route. I loved the building which has been sympathetically restored with no expense spared. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms were lovely but I think you should expect that for £225 a night excluding breakfast. It would have been nice to have... More

A beautiful room, spacious and airy with high ceilings. This place still keeps the character of the original building. The concierge was top class. Food service (especially room service) needs a bit of tweaking - but overall a really nice experience. The Whisky Room is beautifully decorated with comfortable chairs for an aperitif.

Thank you to everyone at the Cedar Court Grand for making the one night overnight stay a very memorable one for our daughters 21st birthday treat. From the initial greeting, to the free upgrade (from an executive room to a junior suite) and the free glass of fizz made it all very special for her and her boyfriend. They tell... More

We booked on their site and bought a mid week double room without breakfast for £99. The hotel itself is very clean, has friendly staff and everything you could ever need. We were also upgraded for free as there were better rooms available. My boss stayed in the same style room as me 4 days earlier and payed £289! I... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in May 2012, the hotel is in a convenient location close to the train station and a short walk to all the shops and restraunts in the city centre. From the greeting we received as we walked up to the hotel to when we checked out the service was first class. The... More

We decided to push the boat out a bit and to stay at a really good hotel when my husband and I visited York for a few days last week. We were not disappointed; it was expensive but worth the money. The Cedar Court Grand is in a handsome building just outside the city walls and ideally located for exploring... More

The Cedar Court Hotel occupies an historic building very near the train station in York, enabling easy access for visitors taking the train from London, as we did. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the York Minster and old city as well as the ancient walls that ring the city. The interior of the hotel itself is somewhat... More

We stayed in York a couple of years ago but i dont think this hotel was open then so thought we would give it a try this time. We travelled by train and the hotel is really close to the station so no need for a taxi. The hotel looked fresh and new and the staff right from the start... More
