Stayed two nights at the Old Vic. Staff were more than friendly, breakfast was great and staff very attentive. Found room very clean, quiet, bed comfy and warm. Only bad point was the shower pressure not strong but that's only because we are used to more pressure. Would recommend and stay there again. Very enjoyable

We only stayed one night at the Old Vic, but we'll definitely be back next time we visit York. The room was clean and bright with a very comfy bed. Nice en suite shower room, also very clean. The owners were very welcoming (including Leo the dog!), and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely full english breakfast which set us... More

I really can't recommend The Old Vic Guest House highly enough. We spent three very comfortable nights here and would happily stay again. Both the owner (Julie) and staff were friendly and helpful (especially when we needed a printer in an emergency), and the full English breakfast really set us up for a days shopping in York. The twin room... More

I came here and stayed two nights with my partner over the weekend. I was greeted by Julie (who has a lovely warm smile) and she gave us our key! The rooms are beautifully decorated, you can tell a lot of thought and passion has gone into it, and had tea and coffee facilities. I loved the river walk into... More

I've have stayed at this guest house several times now with my husband. I have always found it to be like a second home for us. The owner couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. Their dog leo is a gorgeous springer spaniel who loves a good belly rub when you first arrive. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the... More
