Great location even though a inconvenient for parking. However, the room was a let down. It was small and airless for the price and there was a lot of noise in the early morning with the prep of breakfast. However, the food was great and it is very convenient for all the tourist sites. more

We arrived late in the evening and the staff offered little or no help giving guidance on where to park - the local car park was closed - and we spent 30 mins trying to find somewhere only to get a ticket the next day. The rooms were clean, spacious and had very comfortable beds. We were at the front... more

The Lamb and Lion is located centrally in York, easy walk from the train station. Many other hotels in York are a taxi ride from the city centre, it was great to find somewhere only a stone's throw from all the sites and shops. Its located right on Bootham bar, on the city walls and practically underneath the Minster. The... more

The web site for The Lamb and Lion and its sister venue, the Guy Fawkes, looked amazing but unfortunately didn`t quite live up to our expectations. The location is brilliant but if you go for a Petite Double, be warned that it really is quite small. Granted it is an old building and its been refurbished to a high standard... more

My wife and I stayed there in Dec for a special birthday. Booked back in April and we had visited the restaurant when it was High Petergate and the food was fab. At time of booking also booked table in restaurant for sat night dinner. No notification it had changed hands or they had no restaurant anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a pub... more

My husband and I stayed here in February for a birthday treat. I managed to secure a 2-4-1 deal via their website. Basically all we had to do was eat in one of their other restaurants/inns and our second night B&B was free. I honestly can't see why some people have given this place a negative rating. The Inn is... more

we usually book hotels in York, but decided to try Lamb and Lion in as a last minute thing. The pub is a gem - never got as far as the lamb and lion on previous visits, but would definitely drink there again, especially in summer. On arrival, I was greeted by a young, helpful guy who although somewhat lacking... more

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were well appointed and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was at the front of the hotel so suffered from quite a lot of street noise and was a at the top of the hotel so we were kept fit climbing the stairs, but overall we enjoyed the stay.... more

We stayed at the Lamb and Lion Inn with a group of eight friends for our annual Christmas "jolly". I had been to York before and wanted to return so it seemed the ideal place to stay for a Christmas getaway. With it's lovely cobbled streets steeped in history and it's extensive shopping facilities to suit all tastes you really... more
