First impressions are not great, although on the main road (A19) it is not easy to spot as the signage does not stand out also the outer door was closed. You have to climb a flight of stairs to a small cubicle which is the reception and the decor is also looking tired. On the plus side the greeting from... More

Very friendly B&B. Very good position, about a 10 minute walk to The Minster. Room was very clean and breakfast was great. Staff were all friendly and very helpful and happy to suggest places to go. Only downside was size of the room, we were in room 3 and it is very cramped for 2 people, with a tiny window... More

Fist: Its not so easy to find this place .! This due to minimal signing over their plain door. You open the door and what do you see? A narrow staircase that barely fits you snd your suitcase ! At the top there is a "Hole in the wall" which serves as a reseption of sorts.! When somebody shows up it... More

Was met at the start of our stay by the manager/owner. was a little taken aback that the reception was up a flight of stairs. Not very helpful when you have problems with walking/stairs. was rather disappointed that our bathroom was across the hall (room 2). And it still has the mouldy blind. Bedroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast was... More

If you simply need somewhere to sleep in York this may work for you. Tiny rooms with bare minimum conveniences, weak wifi and very basic TV. Can't get a suitcase between the bed and the wall. To be fair it is a guest house not a hotel, and as a guest house you absolutely get clean sheets and a good... More

First impressions were poor. Difficult to find, small sign above a doorway and had to park on the side street with only limited parking. Reception is at the top of some steep steps, so if you're disabled and find it hard to walk, then avoid this B&B. Shown to our room (room number 2) but was told that our bathroom... More

All you could want from a city B&B: comfortable twin room (#1) - one double & one single bed (which could do with a slightly bigger duvet), and a clean bathroom. Told to hold onto our room key, so we could come and go as we pleased, although landlady was very friendly. Full English breakfast was very good. Under 10... More

We went to York for a short one night break in April 2014. We arrived in York about 11.30am and went to the Crescent to see if we would be able to park around there before walking into York. Our room was already ready for us, and so we were able to check in early! The guest house is just... More

Good sized room, comfortable and great location for just about everything in York. We didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that. The staff were very kind and friendly and would definitely stay again.

We loved York. Beautiful city and loved this Guest house. Owner very friendly. We had nice big room with two windows overlooking the street and although it was just the two of us it had an extra single bed which did not feel like it had been squeezed in. Good space between the double and single bed plus a wardrobe... More
