I stayed here in August 2011. It's in a handy location, only a 10-15 minute walk into town. The single room I stayed in was modern and clean. There is car parking space behind the house for guest use, which was one of the main reasons I chose to stay here, however space is somewhat limited. There were a few... More

We stayed at the Hillcrest for 2 nights in the family room, with my Mum and friends for my hen do. The B+B was really lovely, the staff were very friendly and the place was clean and tidy. Food at breakfast was decent and overall good value. It's a bit far out of York, but a nice walk into the... More

Stayed two nights in October.Had the attic room which was a good size and had everything we needed. Helpful host with good hints about what to do and see in York. They were very busy but managed to provide a great breakfast without us having to wait too long. More

We stayed at the guest house in an en-suite double room for 3 nights on an off season deal, 2 of us with a toddler, and were very happy with our stay there. Room was good size and nicely furnished. We were even provided with a cot which was helpful as we were expecting to share the bed with our... More

Stayed for 2 nights in a room for 3. Good - great breakfast, nice to have somewhere to leave the car. Lina was very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to the sites. Clean and room tidied whilst we were away. Not do good - can't complain, the only thing to be on the lookout for is you have to run... More

From the moment we arrived we were made welcome. Given keys to the property so that we could come and go as we please, and a map to help us explore. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, together with a flat screen T.V. if required. We had a brilliant en-suite which was spotlesly clean with big white fluffly towels.An... Stayed in this guest hotel 2 nights whilst in York for a wedding. Very helpful service, with Lena, the owner, recommending nearby coffee shops & restaurants, and making sure we had exactly what we wanted for breakfast. At very short notice she cleared a table, and provided coffee & tea quickly for some relatives who had decided to look me... More

Stayed one night on a coast to coast cycle ride. Used a twin room and single room booked through the York Tourist Office for only a £4 fee- they found us this B&B near town centre with a lock up garage for our bikes. Rooms were spotless and the bed's very comfortable. The proprietor was prepared to serve us breakfast... More

We was recommended this guest house by a friend and we're very glad we stayed here! We found the Hillcrest easily, but not the private car park, took a while for us to spot it, but got it in the end! We was greeted by the owner, Lena... She was very friendly, helpful and has a good sense of humour,... More
