Had a lovely two night stay in a warm and cosy home from home, shared a twin room with en-suite and to my daughter's delight had a lovely bath :). The room was more than big enough with comfy beds, a small tv, tea, coffee, biccies and of course a kettle. There is a card with a list of breakfast items for... More

I stayed two nights at Number 34 with my Mum. We shared a twin room, which was massive, had two very comfy beds, and a fantastic bathroom with a bath. It was lovely and warm and just a really nice room. I emailed the owner a couple of times before our stay asking some questions and adding on an extra... More

Really nice owner, as a vegetarian they catered for a very fussy veggie :) nothing seemed to be an issue and was happy to cater for our needs. Nice big room, quiet location, free parking. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed one night at the B & B while we were in the city. The room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The proprietors were friendly & helpful. There was just a relatively short walk into the city, i.e. approximately 10-15 minutes. We would stay here again the next time we are in York.

Stayed for 3 nights in a cosy single room. The B&B is about a 20-minute walk from the railway station, and about 10 minutes to the city. I thought the housekeeper (or was it the owner?) was quite attentive and proactive - asking if my room was warm enough, and even remembering my breakfast choices, which you can sort of... More

This B & B is a short walk into the city of York. We stayed in the only first floor room, which was quiet & clean. The bathroom and shower is very tiny and in the fall, was quite cold, which facilitated the need to shower and dress very quickly. The made to order breakfast was adequate and very good.

We booked two nights at the Number 34 b&b mainly based on the reviews in trip advisor. We checked in outside of the time because we wanted to leave our car and the street requires a permit. The owner was happy to show us our room and check in. We had the room on the first floor looking out at... More

We booked here last minute to go Christmas shopping in York. Location is perfect for this. Room was clean and comfy although we were on the bottom floor adjacent to the front door and breakfast room, which was subject to a bit of noise. Bathroom was well appointed and shower was good quality. Car Parking was no issue with plenty... More

This guesthouse in a row of guesthouses close to town centre Do not book the single room, you will feel that the walls are closing in - it is the size of a prison cell and feels as much, price for this room should be no more than £30 - was around £55 Breakfast is meagre, the host hangs around... Thank you for taking time to post a review. In response to your comments - A) I would say our single room is 'cosy' but is well furnished and has its own en-suite bathroom, we feel the size of this room is more than comfortable for a single person - NO ONE HAS EVER paid £55 for this room. The... More

Stayed for just the 1 night last week. Easy to find and only a short walk from the main attractions but far enough away to be quiet. Friendly welcome on arrival. Small but very acceptable single room at the top of the stairs which was clean and comfortable with tv and coffee facilities plus en-suite. Warm welcome in the morning... More
