Came here for a quick drink and to chill out when we got to whitby, was such a lovely little pub all small and cosy. I liked that it had quite a low ceiling to it and it over looked the bay oout of the window on the opposite side. Was lovely, cosy and had a homey feel to it.... More

We stayed in Whitby for a few days and found this pub close to our hotel. The views were amazing. We ate there twice and both times the food was really good. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone visiting Whitby. Great value for money. The views are fantastic!

My wife and I have recently been to Whitby for a walking week, and decided to have a meal next door at the Board Inn, where we have experienced very good value meals in the past, but on entering the pub found the loud disco music not to our taste and went to The Duke of York instead. What a... More

great beer, lovely food, accommodation is basic but very nice and clean, great view of the harbour, the staff are polite and attentive, there is no onsite parking due the perfect location of this quaint pub.

Great beers, lovely food at a very reasonable price, nice friendly staff and all at a fantastic location too, cannot wait to return, well done to all of you.The fish and chips were amazing.Even though it was very busy on a Friday night nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

We always try to have a meal here when we visit Whitby. The pub is situated at the base of the famous Abbey 100 steps. Steeped in history this gem must not be overlooked. Friendly efficient staff and well cooked pub grub at a reasonable price. What more could you wish for?

We stayed here in October and on arrival were presenter with a gorgeous room overlooking the harbour. The room was fantastic with beautiful decor and huge double doors stepping onto a courtyard overlooking the whole of Whitby. We ate in the pub twice and had between us the chilli (perfect) steak pie (my partner is very fussy a out pie... More

On our regular visits to Whitby we always have lunch here. We always try to get a seat at one of the windows overlooking the harbour for a nice view. Food is excellent, good value for money and and never had any complaints; wife prefers the haddock and chips whilst I have the Steak and Ale pie with potatoes and... More
