This was not supposed to be a time travel experience but if you visit please do not expect modern. We arrived to meet family on a hot Thursday in August. We had a booking for 13 family members for lunch and had given our orders by phone 2 days before. On arrival we went in to the bar and thought... More

I was disappointed to here all the above comments regarding your meal with us. The price quoted and charged for your meal was £9 per person and £4.50 for the children and not £12.50 as you stated Tea and Coffee was extra and not included. If you had requested ice in your drinks it would have been given not all... More

what a great way to wind back the clock and remember a more relaxed time. The Salmons Leap is a hotel and public house that takes away all the modern hussle and bussle and let's you relax and unwind with the basics that you need. Yes the decor is dated and the rooms just as such (no TV in room... More

Normally we always go to a chain hotel and after reading some reviews was not expecting a pleasant stay but how wrong we where. Adrian is the perfect host we arrived early no problem the rooms are dated but very very clean and the bedding was very new. There is no TV in the room but who goes away to... More

What a treat! The best pint of Guinness outside of Dublin, the finest Italian Prosecco and a menu filled with family favourites. Adrian, the owner, is a delight backed up by a team of helpful ladies. Only a stone's throw from Whitby with good rail and bus links. Or you can enjoy the in-house entertainment and boogie the night away... More

Owner was very pleasant, however the hotel was very dated, no television in the rooms, smelt like a residential home, definitely not the place for the younger generation, requires a desperate refurbishment through out, overall very disappointed.

Booked last minute, so little choice. The host is a nice guy, the staff are pleasant and the location is convenient and quiet. The wifi was unexpected, as not advertised, but worked really well, so a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the place needs money spending on it. The rooms are very basic, with wonky doors, a towel rail hung at a... More

At short notice two days before our visit to sleights I looked for vacancies around the Whitby area only to find there wasn't actually much available,so I gave the hotel a ring and arranged a one night stay for Saturday 12th July. On arrival we were met by the owner who took us to our room and explained about walks... More

Though basic and behind the times, the facilities was adequate. The hotelier could not have been more helpful and the bed and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Very good breakfast with as much as you wanted to eat. Tea and coffee in the room - always welcome.

My cousin and his wife came to visit us in Sleights so we decided to take them to the Salmon Leap Hotel for Sunday Lunch. They were impressed by the friendly welcome and efficient staff. The meal was,as expected delicious, and we couldn't fault all three courses. My cousin complemented Adrian on his Traditional home made Sunday lunch and compared... More
