La Rosa is magical, quirky, kitsch and simply fabulous. With many themed rooms, you want to visit this hotel many times for a whole new unique experience. The rooms are gorgeous and cosy. We have stayed is 'Arabesque' and the 'La Rosa' room during our stays here. Both rooms have such comfortable beds and generous sized baths. (Totally love the... More

We had a lovely night at La Rosa Hotel. We were in The Crows Nest - a suite of 3 double rooms on the top floor. There are 2 rooms at the front of the hotel, with views out over the harbour and across to the Abbey. The largest room has an en-suite. The 3rd bedroom at the back of... More

Booked this hotel after reading about the quirky rooms, friendly service and awesome breakfast. The rooms are indeed nice and quirky. The breakfast is unfortunately very much on the on the cheap side. Being truly continental myself I do not understand how I am expected to eat a croissant with cheese. After asking for a slice of toast I got... More

I have never felt so relaxed and "at home" than at La Rosa and I cannot wait to return. We stayed in the Little Red room which, is based on Little Red Ridinghood. Its a cosy room for a couple which has a very comfortable four poster bed and is full of antiques and oddities. It has a standing shower... More

This hotel is a one off. Each room has a quirky theme to it and it worked for me. Some people might be put off by it but until you've tried it, you'll never know. Breakfast came to our room in a basket, yes a basket, really funky, I thought. You got, boiled eggs, cheese, scones, fresh orange and mixed... More

We stayed just the one night in the Stoker room of the hotel. Quirky and bohemian - loved the character of the place from the tea room downstairs, to the reception and the themed bedroom. As an experience it was great and similarly for a brief stay it was fine. Views from the room were amazing and the room was... More

I've just returned from a birthday weekend break in Whitby, and was absolutely delighted with La Rosa hotel. I stayed in the Lewis Carroll room which had amazing sea views as promised, with a beautiful view of the harbour and the abbey. Breakfast was charming both mornings, with everything fresh and warm. The toiletries were made with real fresh produce... More

Just back from a fabulous weekend at la rosa campsite. We stayed in tinkers trailer with its pot bellied stove and box bed. Claudia was fantastic, giving us a lift in her car and showing us all around the site. Logs, candles and everything you could think of in the camping kitchen are supplied. It was magical sitting round the... More

for our wedding anniversary my hubby booked us 2 nights in the Mr Toad caravan. Mr toad is a proper old fashioned wooden gypsy van or is it a shepherd's hut? it is painted in red green and yellow and is set in it's own secluded field with pretty climbing plants tumbling over it. it is so pretty it will... I chose this hotel for my fiancée's 21st birthday and it was everything she loved- quirky/ all things weird and wonderful. We was in the Caravan Room, small and cosy. She LOVED it! Staff friendly and welcoming, gave us recommendations of places to go and eat. Bed is lovely and comfortable. Nothing we could find to fault. We want to... More
