Fantastic rooms with everything you need to make your stay perfect (plentiful tea, coffee etc). We stayed for 3 nights and we're made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. I love this area and staying at The Sandpiper was the icing on the cake! What a perfect location. more

We stayed at the Sandpiper for 4 days, and we have rarely encountered an owner like Peter (his wife Manetta does the back-of-house, nuts-and-bolts stuff, so we rarely saw her). He was extraordinarily helpful, not only about local sights, restaurants, and the like, but also the history and life of Whitby today, which he seems to know everything about. His... more

We spent 4 nights at the Sandpiper at the start of June. I can only echo the praise of other reviews. The location was ideal, great for walks into town or the beach, near enough to walk off dinner, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town. Peter was as helpful as others have suggested, he made... more

Sandpiper is run by a lovely hardworking couple who provide little extras to make your stay special. Loved the caffetieres at breakfast, and they do the perfect fried egg. Single room larger than normal, with a 4ft bed which was very comfy. I would have stayed another night if the room had been free - usually I want to come... more

This was our second visit to the Sandpiper House and we have once again had a fab time. The rooms are lovely and clean with special touches which make you feel that you are being very well looked after. Considering it was the Goth weekend and the House and indeed Whitby were very busy....!! There were no nights disturbed by... more

We've just returned from a 3 night short break in this lovely Guest House in an ideal location in the heart of Whitby. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated - very clean and fresh with a fabulous king size bed! Small en suite but the shower was really powerful - a good way to wake up. Breakfasts, cooked by... more
