I stayed here for one night with my baby. The location is absolutely perfect. Straight across from the station, next to the centre and close to a long stay car park. It doesn't really have baby friendly options but this didn't really matter to me as the building is old and hard to adapt. We stayed at the very top... More

This hotel is an old building with no obvious noise insulation but has a licence for bands and loud music, which goes on until 2/3 am, after punters have finished shouting, screaming and fighting in the street outside your room expect some peace around 3.30am. The owners clearly focus on the drinkers spending and not your shut eye as a... More

.Stayed here for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. Have passed this hotel many times and did think it was a pub with rooms. Wrong!! It is an hotel. As you arrive in Whitby it is located opposite the railway station. This is not the front, this is the bar, the front is arround the corner and a lovely... More

Stopped over for a one night stay and was pleasantly impressed. We stayed in room 15, bathroom was a bit dated but it was clean and tidy. Loved that you could actually open the window to get a nice breeze. Despite the football being on late afternoon we didn't hear anything. Bed was super comfy and got a nice rest.... More

Clean and comfortable!! Every thing is a bit old and tired!! Great location and good coffee served in the bar! Beware no lift so 3rd 4th floor rooms are a bit of a trek. Our room 18 was on the 3rd floor, it was small but clean, there was just a small window in the room, which we had to... More

2 Night stay, room 17, 3rd floor, no lift. Cold as it didn't seem possible to adjust the heating on/off times. Single glazed sash window let a lot of draughts in. Room was small with no chair (or room for one). Generally scruffy with paint peeling. Very little storage space. Tiny bedside shelves suitable for a paperback and nothing else.... More

After reading some poor reviews I was expecting a run down smelly old pub but was very suprised. It's a great hotel with a good bar, real ales, live entertainment and sport on big screens. Perfect central location. Price was very good too. Would stay here again.

Booked a two night stay in the George hotel( room 10 )very tiny and no view with a large frosted glass, as we both love Whitby and have stayed in other hotels there. The only good thing about the hotel was leaving in the morning, we booked a weekend stay there. From10 pm on the Friday night there was a... More
