This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Hillcrest (first time in 2008). We stayed during Halloween weekend (or for those in the know, the Whitby Goth Weekend). Nice daily rate, free parking, free strong wifi. The room we had (Grosmont) was nice (a bit tight for all the luggage we had, but we made... More

Myself and my husband brought my grandmother here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Whitby. When ringing to book, I asked If there was any ground floor vacancies as obviously my grandma is elderly, this wasn't a problem & a ground floor was booked, with our room booked being the opposite door from hers, this was handy, as my... We booked this accommodation through Whitby Tourist Board and did not find it up to scratch for the price. The Grosmont Room was very small and quite unlike its advertising blurb.. Situated at the back of the hotel it felt more like the staff accommodation. The advertising stated that there was a sumptuous headboard, what a shame that the owners... More

Stayed in the Little Beck room which is right near the front door. We arrived at just before 12 and were greeted promptly by the owner. She seemed organised and knew our booking and that we were all paid up. She showed us the room, recommended some of the local places to drink and told us about the wifi. We... More

We enjoyed a 2 day stay in Whitby during the folk music festival. It was proving difficult to find accommodation so we were pleased to find this one available, probably because it was overpriced for Whitby. That said, room comfortable, plenty space and great shower. Only 5-10 min walk into town but not for the unfit as steep hill on... More

Me and partner stayed at Hillcrest guesthouse on 29th july 2015 for one night. On arrivalwe had difficulty parking as the car parking spaces were very tight but manageable. When we checked in we were shown to our rooms by a member of staff who we struggled to understand but she was very polite though. We stayed in the lealholm... More

We stayed for 2 nights in May, the room was immaculate and the staff were really friendly. Only a very pleasant 10 min walk from whitby would definitely recommend which has some great bars and resturants. Cannot think of a single thing to suggest they improve

Stayed for 2 nights, hotel room was beautifully decorated, the shower was fantastic, the breakfast was good, however the rest of the hotel is in need of a tidy up, looking rather shabby, and was quite disappointed with the meet and greet on arrival....as there wasn't one, didn't see the owner till checking out to take the money...very poor I... This is a lovely B&B and is perfectly located for Whitby. It’s a 5 minute walk down the hill and a 10 minute walk back up. Our room was lovely (we stayed in the Grosmont ) and if you leaned right up to the window and squint you can see the Abbey which made me happy). The bathroom was gorgeous... More
