Have just returned from the Argyle, we have had a lovely weekend. When you park up you can get a parking permit from hotel which is really convenient and free. We were in the attic room, the stairs were not for the faint hearted, but a lovely big room, all mod cons, bed really really comfortable. The hotel is situated... More

My wife and I stayed here with another couple. We got the attic room, which seemed to be bigger and had a nicer view - we could see the abbey through our side window. The room was great - spacious and bright, with tea and coffee making facilities, and a HD Smart TV which has free Netflix and HDMI inputs... More

As usual Whitby is always a surprise on where I stay. Being coming here for years.. But never to stay in this little gem of a place. Bedroom spacious even though attic. So beware early morning call from gulls. But bathroom spotless. Room and bed A1. Even smart TV with free Netflix. Bill and Mel a lovely host to this... More

We stayed here after completing the w2w coast to coast cycle route. Lily was a lovely welcoming hostess, and we enjoyed our stay in a very comfy attic room. Breakfast was superb, with fresh fruit as a standard offering with a range of cereal and cooked options. Recommended for a comfortable friendly B&B in a quiet, convenient part of the... More

It was our first stay in Whitby, so we search the web for a 4 star b & b, the Argyle’s website was good and the reviews were excellent (we still can’t understand why?). After booking we sent an email requesting gluten free food for one, we had no reply and on arrival when mentioning this to Bill he recalled... More

A comfortable B&B in a super location just behind the crescent on the West Cliff. We had one of the attic rooms which was quite big enough for the three of us, comfy beds and a view of the Abbey over the chimneypots. Breakfast was well prepared and tasty with nothing too much trouble. The best recommendation I can give... More
