we stayed for 3 nights at Bramblewick recently and have to agree with whats already been written here, in that, the hotel is spotlessly clean and very well presented. The breakfasts are excellent quality and be warned that the local whitby kippers are huge ! The only gripes (again agreeing with a previous review) was the noise from the road... more

We stayed here for a few nights as we had business in the area. It is a lovely Guest House and is beautifully clean with lovely decor. The breakfasts as previously mentioned were excellent. Sue and dave were very friendly and helpful. We will be in the area at least once a year and we will hopefully be staying there... more

Excellent, definitely worth its 4 star status. One of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. The owners cannot do enough for you and extremely friendly. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice. Better than some of its more expensive rivals in Whitby. The only downside is the noise from the urban race circuit ie the youths of Whitby... more

This is definitely an above average B&B. We stayed here over the May Bank Holiday with some friends of ours. We booked two double rooms one on the first floor and one on the top. They were both of similar size and condition which was clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was all freshly cooked and to a very good... more

A very clean and friendly B&B. We stayed in room 7 on the top floor, lovely views of the abby though I would say only stop on that floor if you are very fit. We counted 70 steps from the street to the room! A good choice of breakfasts with a variety of cooked options including vegetarian options. As for... more

Having read the other reviews (read in curiosity) I can only concur with the majority. I have stayed at the hotel, and will be staying again in a few weeks, and can find no fault whatsoever with the bed (yes we stayed in the third floor double), neither can we find fault with the service, the welcome, or the food. It... more

We have stayed at the Bramblewick for the past 5 years running and would not stay anywhere else in Whitby. The owners, Sue & Dave, offer a warm and friendly welcome. The wonderful breakfast on offer sets you up for the day - it is always cooked to perfection. If you are feeling energetic, I'd suggest requesting a room on... more

We have stayed at Bramblewick for the past few years and have always found the accommodation to be faultless! The rooms, in particular, on the third floor are light and airy and furnished to a high standard. Breakfasts are more than ample and cater for all tastes The proprietors are very helpful and strive to ensure a pleasant and worthwhile... more

Bramblewick's breakfasts are the b'fasts by which all others are judged-none has come close. Owners wonderful, location great, art work interesting, Our beds were great. One complaint- do seagulls ever sleep?- I think not. Hope to return very soon. more

Never again!

I have stayed at hotels and b&b places in Whitby for many, many years and have to say that our one night at the Bramblewick was the worst I have ever experienced. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights but couldn't face a second night on the most uncomfortable beds EVER! My husband and I had a tiny double... more
