We stayed at this hotel for one night. We had booked it in May on bookings.com for a double room for £85. However when we arrived the receptionist said that had been a mistake and should be £125! We queried how this and she said that on Bookings.com they had charged us for single occupancy of a double room. Very... More

We have just returned home from a really lovely weekend at Dunsley Hall Hotel. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We had an excellent breakfast each day and we ate dinner at the hotel twice.. The chef is to be congratulated on the very tasty and varied food he cooks. The hotel could do with a little updating but... More

I booked this hotel for my wife's special birthday and the superior room we were allocated (18) was excellent. It was large with 2 easy chairs and a canopied bed as well as a large wardrobe. The furniture was in keeping with the 100 year old house as was all the other furniture within the hotel. Our friends superior room... More

In a lovely location and very handy for Whitby the old 'Manor' part of this hotel is beautiful and well presented. Parts of the newer bits and the garden need a bit of attention - old chairs lying around and the tennis court looked run down. However the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a bit tired and could do with a bit of redecoration. The shower over our bath was very odd. It only worked if you turned it on, it then trickled before drying up; then you had to turn on the bath taps and turn the shower on again - it would then work. The staff are great,... More

Returned yesterday from a weekend break with my husband. This is a lovely hotel in peaceful surroundings with easy access into Whitby and beyond. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was number 1 on the ground floor. It was very large and beautiifully furnished in keeping with the property. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. I can't... More

We stayed here for 2 nights & found the hotel quiet, not sure if this was because the hotel's position is more likely to appeal to an older age group. It is on the outskirts, accessed down a long lane in a hamlet with no pubs immediately around it so is unlikely to be chosen by younger visitors seeking entertainment.... More

Stopped off here for afternoon coffee after spending a night away. The hall is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. We were shown to the visitors lounge which was all wood panelling and beautiful stained glass windows. We were brought a large cafetiere of coffee and plate of shortbread and we sat and relaxed. Would love to... More

What a lovely hotel, charming. Stayed to celebrate a family birthday over a long weekend. Made it a very special occasion as I stayed in one of the suites. Room spacious and very comfortable. Attention to cleanliness and comfort fabulous - fully recommended!! Even luxury toiletries provided and replaced daily. Linen and towels spotless. We dined at the hotel including... More

Sunday-Wednesday stay. Very peasant hotel that is I believe under very recent new management. From the past reviews some people have had difficulties. It appears there is a genuine change in things, food was good, service excellant, room was comfortable and clean. Bed great. The hotel was very good but could be so much better with a small effort. It's... More
