I have read most of the reviews. I don't understand the rates for bed and breakfast. £120 per night for Room 1 which is a fair price for a nice room. £160 per night for Room 10 which is outrageous frankly, hardly habitable. I still can't believe I paid this amount without challenging the bill.

Just had time for a on night stay, glad we chose Dunsley Hall. What a lovely location and so quiet, the bedrooms were very clean and comfortable, bed linen and towels gorgeous, bathroom and bedroom spotlessly clean. tea and coffee making facilities, and biscuits, a nice touch my hubby thought. Went to the comfy bar for drinks before dinner, we... More

I stayed here with my wife for a weekend getaway. After a nice walk towards Sandsend we came back and ate at the hotel, where we enjoyed terrific vegetarian and vegan meals. We found the hotel and its location quite lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Dunsley Hall is set in its own grounds in a small hamlet out the back of Sandsend. The setting is tranquil as little traffic uses the road and the views of the countryside and the sea are charming, a great place to get away from it all, you would need to drive or get taxis if you wanted to find... My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and what can I say...... Just simply a hidden gem, it is about 2 miles outside Whitby but a pleasant and easy journey if you want to visit the town. The building is simply amazing and our room was beautiful, and the place is so clean even though it's a really... More

Yes the reception was tiny but they were very friendly staff and I could care less about the reception area.i am not keen on having dinner in the same as you have breakfast so glad I ate in the bar one night but it's close enough to... We arrived on a Thursday around 3pm. Initially, we had good feelings about the hotel – it looked lovely and the grounds were obviously kept tidy. Good reviews too. Other guests seemed pleasant and polite enough too, although we were definitely the youngest in the room by about 40 years come breakfast time. We were treated well when we arrived... More

This is a nice turn of the century hotel near Whitby. It has about 24 bedrooms. The place has wood panelling and is furnished in suitably and tastefully. The food was of good quality, but the wine only average. Staff were all friendly. Lovely bedroom, but poor bathroom. Grounds pleasant, ground floor lovely. Just a couple of negative things. The... Just had a fantastic 3 nights with a group of 30 from our church - great staff, wonderful food, beautiful location and great rooms - thanks to all - 2nd visit and will return again. Just down the road from Whitby park and ride, advise you use it as parking in Whitby terrible. This hotel is a gem and ideally... More

Stayed for 1 night when in the area on business. Lovely welcome and shown to room - a first for me and I stay away a lot with work! Lovely big room, bath, shower and lots of toiletries to choose from. Big fluffy towels. Very quiet and peaceful. Very little to moan about - bar food great and reasonable. Hassle... More
