We only stayed for 1 night for a party in Whitby so didn't manage spend a lot of time at the hotel or dine. However the time we did spend at the hotel was great. It had a very relaxed friendly atmosphere and all the staff were welcoming and natural in their manner and work. We loved the lounge and... More

We have just had two nights at this beautiful, old country house hotel and enjoyed it very much. We paid £100 for the two nights including breakfast - this worked out cheaper than staying in the Premier Inn at Scarborough! We were given room 3 which has a magnificent four poster bed, unfortunately the en-suite has only a bath with... More

This hotel was very plush. Staff really friendly, food was excellent. We went into the restaurant the first night, the food was exceptionally good and very filling. The second night we went and ate in the bar, again the food was excellent and filling. The room was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel a visit. We... More

We decided to treat ourselves to a night away after a hectic Xmas & booked in for B & B. We arrived late afternoon to a warm welcome by the lady on reception & shown to our room which was very spacious, it had an enormous bed, two armchairs in the bay window, TV, shower room, tea & coffee making... We booked this last minute for a one night stay between Xmas and the New Year. The lady on reception was extremely friendly, taking us to our room upon arrival. It was spacious having a large bath and shower, overlooking a lovely garden with patio doors. It would be lovely to return in the Spring to access the doors and... More

despite being a little bit tired and a little bit dusty in places this hotel has a wonderful homely charm about it. We had room 3 which is four poster with great views towards the coast,,, only slight downer was no shower above the bath. The public rooms are all lined with beautifully carved oak but because of the way... More

We really enjoyed our weekend staying here. The service was good, the food was good and the bar was excellent. Our room was in an annex with very high ceilings so difficult to keep warm, made worse by my disabilities. The staff really make this an excellent place to stay.

We stayed in this hotel on a spur of the moment thing. We have stayed here a couple of years back, and it still has it's charm. The building is fantastic with a really relaxing atmosphere. There is a wood panelled sitting room with a hugh inglenook fireplace which is stunning. We ate there, and although we have had better,... More

Beautiful location. Literally 2-3 mins from the coast by car or a nice walk in the summer. Fantastic Staff -they couldn't do enough for us. Ate at the hotel restaurant both nights and the food was fantastic. The service brilliant and the breakfast was lovely great selection and plenty of it. The room we stayed in was lovely very clean,... More
