This is our second big family weekend stay here. The rooms are a nice size & the staff friendly. However the food quality isn't spectacular for the price & our breakfast on the second day was a disaster, waited 30 mins for a pot of tea, they had ran out of nearly everything so no breakfast ordered was complete. However... More

Nicely positioned for both Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors and a pleasant building with clean and tidy rooms and a really good breakfast. What struck me was a feeling it had undergone some re-structuring and staff changes. The staff were most pleasant and helpful, but some did not appear to have been trained whatsoever. This did not make the... More

We spent one night here whilst visiting Whitby. We had a room in the new extension, lacked some of the atmosphere of the main house but we couldn't find much to fault. The bed was huge, the decor nice, roll top bath. There is nothing in Dunsley itself, but it's about 30mins walk down to the beach at Sandsend. We... More

I stopped off here on a short Roadtrip on my motorcycle. It was a pleasant surprise to be given a very grand room which was very comfortable overlooking the terrace. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful allowing me to park my bike outside the hotel in view of reception. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. It's a... More

Was a birthday treat and was a disappointment. Reception welcome was frosty, room quaint but not worth the money. Silly things let this place down, no working phone, no hairdryer in the room, most things on the menu being out of stock early on in the evening. View on sea was only really possibly if you could stand on a... More

May I just say in respect of the Peterborough person's adverse reviews, that if he had dealt with the problems immediately and in an acceptable manner, then no doubt this hotel would have gone out of their way to rectify those grievances. My husband and I stayed here at the beginning of September. On arrival we were shown to our... More

Visited dunsley hall for my partners family wedding, we where all impressed with the place on arrival, but that is where it stopped unfornatley, very expensive drinks, lots of people complaining about that, but nice places to sit and all very relaxed, we where then showed in to the reception for the meal of 3 courses, my soup terrible! Veg... More

Via booking.com. Last minute an hour before arrival.... Expected a double room ensuite but was given 3 bed cottage in grounds.... Ordered breakfast in bed which was delicious and at no extra cost.... Only downside was it being too big for two.... It was like being at home.... But we would rebook with kids. .. Sandsend nearby is a lovely... More

My wife, daughter and myself stayed for 3 nights a week ago and found the hotel comfortable if a little tired. Our room was spacious and warm, the bed comfortable and clean. We had patio type doors out onto a small grassed area with tables and chairs. The bathroom was a good size but the thing I didn't like was... More
