Great grounds, excellent views from our bedroom, good restaurant, lovely indoor pool and staff who are really engaging - what more could you want. This is a great place to stay and it is near the coast and ideal for the North York Moors.

We had a walk down to Raithwaite for some lunch; we live on the edge of Whitby so we weren't staying. A waiter came to our table straight away, we ordered our drinks and were told he'd bring some menus. After 8 minutes a glass of wine arrived and I was told they were changing the barrel for my pint.... More

I write this review in the context that we booked a luxury package at a DBB price of £286 per night per room for our Wedding Anniversary. I agree with a previous reviewer that this may well be a 'wait and see' however we simply cannot ignore the reality of our stay. First point is as soon as you book... More

A long weekend treat we chose based on location and restaurant reviews. The room was bedroom downstairs, lounge upstairs, very nice with the only comment being the lack of a full length dressing mirror. The hotel, grounds and spa were very nice, blessed with sunshine a Sunday morning a post-breakfast stroll was a delight. The restaurant was a huge let... More

The service is second to none - the rooms are lovely, the hotel is beautiful, the food is fantastic 10 out of 10 in all respects. Went for a 50th birthday and everything was perfect - can't wait to go back

We could not have been treated better, the room was warm, comfortable and very clean. Most of all the staff were very attentive and met all our needs with effortless attention to detail. Will definitely return for a longer stay and explore the area.

Excellent can be a much over-used word but on this occasion I can't think of a more fitting description. I simply could not find fault - okay then, the wardrobe could be bigger! The room was warm, clean and spacious. The bar was inviting, as was the restaurant. The food was delightful (I would highly recommend the tasting menu). Throughout... More

Returned here for a 2 nights stay at this lovely relaxing hotel. The staff are always polite, helpful and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are modern and spacious, however if you want a view don't opt for a club room as they only have ceiling windows. The breakfast is very good with a mix of... More

We stayed here at regatta weekend and at short notice so probably paid a premium as a result. The hotel is in a lovely position with stunning grounds but when you're in Whitby (well just outside actually) you don't spend hours in the hotel. The staff were helpful but at £300 for a night you'd expect good service. I'd stay... More

I visited with my daughter who surprised me with afternoon tea. Unfortunately they had been a mix up with the booking, which resulted in `no booking` The staff found us a table & couldn't have been more attentive. It is in gorgeous surroundings & the personal attention shown will mean we will return. A male member of the bar staff... More
