Just returned from a 2 day stay at the Waverley in Whitby. As it happened, whilst the rest of the country was enjoying the first warm spring week end of the year, the east coast was cloudy and the "fret" - a cold sea mist was hanging about for all of Saturday. Fortunate then, that we were staying at the... More

I stayed at The Waverley for three nights in March, having decided to visit Whitby on a whim when planning a visit to Yorkshire. For such an idle choice, my days in Whitby turned out to be some of the best of my trip, mostly thanks to David and Tania and their hospitality at The Waverley. When David heard that... More

This is a fantastic place to stay and very central. David & Tania couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome and at home. Our room was really nice & we had a fantastic view from our room which was an added bonus. Would highly recommend this place and we would definitely stay here again. We didn't... More

Thank you Jaine for posting a review, it always pleases us when our guests have had a good time, your room at the top rear of the building, although one of our smaller rooms does have the best views. We do hope to see you again in the future, Kind regards D&T. More

We have just returned from our first trip to Whitby, which will certainly not be our last. The trip was bought as a birthday present and we were delighted with the wonderful warm welcome we received from Tania & David. Our room was comfortable, very clean and the breakfast was cooked to perfection! Tania & David provided everything for our... More

We booked a last minute stay in Whitby and chose the Waverley because of it's position and the good reviews. We were not disappointed with either the Waverley or Whitby out of season. David and Tania run this homely guest house and are most welcoming. We arrived early and David sorted out car parking for us and showed us to... More

Thank you for posting a great review of The Waverley , the rear rooms do have fantastic views across to the Abbey ruins. Finally thanks for the complement on my scrambled eggs, they are of course free range eggs. Kind regards D&T. More

Me and my partners first time in Whitby, it won't be our last and we'll be staying here again! You receive a warm welcome from a great couple in David and Tania. The room and en-suite were immaculate and more than comfortable (especially the double shower)! The breakfast was second to none and plenty of variety to choose from. Once... More

This is one of the nicest B and B's I've stayed in. The place is immaculate and Tania and David make you feel you are staying with them at their house. The breakfast was lovely with locally sourced meat (or kippers), not a tesco value sausage in sight! The B and B is really near to the town and the... More

We stayed for three nights at the beginning of February. A very warm welcome from Tania and David. The room was far bigger than the "norm", and the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. Breakfast, a good choice, and excellently prepared. Overall, a fantastic B & B, less than five minutes from town centre and sea!

Arrived about 7.15 Friday evening and received a lovely warm welcome and help with our luggage to our room. Room was lovely and clean but a bit cold so we turned the radiator up. There was no radiator in the bathroom so that was a bit chilly. Beds clean and very comfortable. We took some wine and wine glasses appeared... More
