We often visit Whitby and have stayed in a variety of places, mostly good but some not so good. Now though we need never search again having just had our second stay at The Waverley. The hotel is spotless, the breakfasts are to die for and the welcome afforded by Stephen and Julie is second to none. Don't waste any... more

We spent 3 nights at the Waverley - all the reviews we'd read before we went were correct! -lovely decor, great hosts, great breakfast. Wifi connection was available which was very handy. We were allocated our rooms on the 3rd floor (the climb of 51 stairs isnt for the fainthearted or vertigo sufferers!!)but the wonderful view of the Abbey is well... more

I stayed in "The Waverly" recently. It is conveniently positioned for the promenade and all the attractions as well a short walk from the train station. The hosts are absolutely wonderful. Stephen and Julie had done a perfect job in making this guest house a very homely and warm. They haven't spared any effort in making "The waverly" the best... more

I'd read really great things about this guesthouse before I came, but even then I was still very impressed by the quality of the place. One thing that really shines through is the attention to detail, everything is taken care of, and if anything isn't then Steve and Julie will make sure it is, if it is humanly possible. The... more

My wife & I chose The Waverley following the recommendations posted by fellow T / A's. As my title and our rating suggests, everything within The Waverley was faultless and the only reason I have marked down the location is because there is limited car-parking space which can be a minor problem at busy times. Otherwise, the decor & cleanliness... more

We stayed at the Waverly for a long weekend in March. The room was absolutely spotless, an excellent size and even has little extra's that you'd expect in a 5* hotel i.e.shower and hand gels, fresh milk, cotton wool buds etc. The owners Julie & Stephen are extremely welcoming and friendly providing excellent advice on walks and places to eat... more

Have been returning to The Waverley for many years and hope to do so for the foreseeable future. Present owners have maintained and improved on the previous high standards. Always found the accommodation comfortable with excellent breakfasts and a consistent warm welcome on arrival. A credit to Whitby! Jayjay more
