Our 2 night stay at The Waverley (Rooms 2&3) was faultless. Friendly hosts, rooms spotless with lots of little extras, comfy beds, good quality bedding, great breakfast choice(better than some hotels), cooked breakfast lovely, speedy attentive service with nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Whitby. 'Free' street parking just outside... More

Nothing was too much for Tania and David. Not that we asked for much. Rooms spotless, free wifi, soap toiletries toped up daily. Breakfast to die for!!! With locally sourced ingredients. Fresh fruit and even strawberries available. Happy cheerful couple. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Every thing you needed, playing, cards, shoe horn, nail brush, hair... More

The waverley is well located far enough away from the thriving centre to be quiet at night but close enough to be within an easy stroll. It's a good honest guest house that offers that little bit more. Stayed for two nights in the Compact room (9) on the top floor. The trek to the summit is energy sapping and... More

We spent two nights in the Waverly on a roundtrip through Yorkshire and we absolutely loved it! Whitby is definitely worth a visit. When you are in town for more than a day, consider a trip with the old steam locomotive through the North York Moors! The hotel is well located about 5 min walking from the restaurants and sights... Our first break together as a couple. Booked for 2 nights but loved it so much we stopped an extra night. Fabulous few days spent here. A view to die for...... Spotless room. Superb hosts. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you Tania & David for making our visit special.

If you're going to Whitby consider staying here. The guest house is lovely. Dave and Tania are a super couple who run a very clean guest house. Our room was spotless, there were toiletries in the bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and if you ran out of tea/coffee there was more ready for you to collect from the reception area. The... We've stayed in Whitby umpteen times over the years for short and long breaks and this takes some beating. Dave & Tania are most welcoming. Room 3 is one of the most spacious rooms you'll find for a double. The hotel is spotless and a lot of attention to detail to make your stay a comfortable & enjoyable one. Breakfast... More

We were on a whistle stop tour around Yorkshire and Whitby. David greeted us warmly, had saved us a car parking space, and showed us our room with a fantastic view of the abbey ruins. We felt at home and with a great selection of films to watch after our evening in town it was cosy. Breakfast was served by... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here this week for our first time in Whitby . The owners were very welcoming when we arrived and throughout our stay. They were always chatty and approachable. The rooms were a great size and very clean. The rooms were cleaned each day. The bnb had great homely touches to it including more tea and... More
