We stayed here for 3 nights over the new year period. The hotel is absolutely immaculate, breakfast was good with a good selection on the menu, however there was no food available at the hotel or bar on New Year's Eve, we only asked for a sandwich or even a slice of toast but were refused even though there was... First impressions of the hotel were very good, parking was outside the front door, a helpful gentleman on reception who was attentive and showed us to our room. From then onwards our stay at the Seacliffe went downhill very quickly. The main part was the breakfast, a bacon and sausage sandwich on two mornings with one small piece of bacon... More

We stayed as a family and the set up of the rooms was great - a double room with an adjacent single room - perfect for our family. Everything was neat and tidy - no view from the bedroom which was a shame as we had hoped for a sea view.. Unfortunately there were dogs staying in the room above... More

This is the second time we have stayed here. Very good hotel, staff are really friendly and helpful as is the owner. Amazing views from the bedroom if you are on the front of the building. We have only stayed bed n breakfast so can't comment on the other meals. The breakfast choice is good and again the staff who... More

Me and my husband have just had 4 nights in this hotel in Whitby, the room we had was lovely with a bay window looking out to sea, the bed was comfortable and we had a big walk in shower which was excellent. This hotel had good facilities, with free wifi, a lovely breakfast, including cereals, toast, fruit, yogurts, a... More

Really nice stay , just two nights in the room with the big bay window, so a super view. All the staff we met were friendly, its in a great location, that was the best thing, but only if you dont mind the walk into town. The hotel menu was fine,I enjoyed all the food and wine. Room was very... More

Stayed here again recently and it was just as good as last time. It is unusual in that it is a very happy hotel. Usually as hotels go up market they get more formal and sometimes 'stuffy'. Here the staff are happy and it shows in the great service. Looking forward already to staying here again.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and very easy to walk into town. Only downsides were the rather small double bed, and the creaky floorboards above us. We hardly slept one night because of the fierce wind all night, but that's hardly their fault. That's Whitby for you! Otherwise, I would recommend it.

We had booked here for one night on our return trip from a family event in the south of England. We stayed in 3 other guest houses on this trip and this one was by far the most expensive at £92 for the room so were expecting a good quality room. On arrival, we were given the key to our... More
