very much overpriced as the place offers little more than a 'travelodge' check out the web site and if you look at the pictures for the various rooms attached to the room numbers you will find in reality they are incorrect, best ring forward and check which actual room you are booking. we were in room 1 which offers good... On a day out in Whitby looked for a dog friendly place for lunch and found the Dolphin. Very dog friendly our dog was brought a dish of water and some doggie treats by a lovely lady. Dogs are only allowed on the bottom floor and bar area, which had a lovely open fire roaring. Even though its summer it... More

My mum and I visited the dolphin restaurant a couple of times last week with our dog as dogs can go inside. The food was all freshly cooked and delicious. Unfortunately one night when we wished to go we had to find somewhere else as the food stopped at 6pm - they said it was usually on untill 8 though.... More

The nicest hotel I stayed in ever in Whitby. Was pleasantly surprised when entered the room the photos don't do it justice, very nicely decorated and comfy bed with lovely views of the Harbour. We stayed in room 1 our friends in room 4 and their room equally lovely. Staff were very pleasant, we book here again.

Fabulous hotel, staff very helpful and friendly, excellent service on arrival, nothing was a problem. We stayed in room no 2, which has great views overlooking the harbor. Hotel very clean and tidy, the shower was superb and breakfast was delicious.

We first visited the Dolphin a year ago and returned this year on 24 March for a light lunch. The Dolphin has a fine setting and our coffees and sandwiches were excellent; my wife was delighted by the home made syrup sponge pudding. The service was very good and although there were lots of customers our food came quickly. This... More

Dropped into this pub for a couple of ales and ended up sat next to a birthday party group dressed as bees celebrating a 50th! The other table, lovers tiff between a couple who thought 4 in the afternoon was the time to be doing double jaeger bombs. That didn't end well. Bar staff were great though and if you... More

We have visited here a few times with our dogs for lunch & the food is really great. We are always made to feel very welcome, as are our dogs and they particularly like the "treat lady", who has a bucket full treats! The staff are all really friendly, it's good value for money & has a lovely atmosphere. Definitely... More
