Just returned from the Sandpiper. Peter and Manetta (the owners) very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was devine! The usual cereals, fruit juices on offer, followed by a full English breakfast freshly cooked. Delicious! We stayed in room 1 on the first floor. We had a superking bed (actually 2 singles pushed together) which provided us with loads... more

You need to be fit for Whitby, very steep hills and lots of steps. Sandpiper owner very helpful and knowledgable about the local area and facilities. Guest House ideally situated for access to everything. Good breakfast, not fatty and they will do what you want. Beds big and comfortable, bathroom products very good quality. Wifi available. Just 2 niggles and... more

It was our first trip to the North East. We found Peter to be a warm and genial host. Sadly, we didn't get to meet Minetta. The room was comfortable and spacious. Our room had a four poster bed, good TV, lots of storage space and tea and coffee facilities, a comfortable leather sofa plus an en suite bathroom. Infinitely nicer than your average seaside B&B. We didn't see... more

To Everyone. This is the place you need when visiting Whitby. Peter (the gaffer) gave the most enthusiastic and friendly welcome from the very first moment we arrived, greeting us, giving us a guide and tips on where to eat (and where not of course), how to get about (to & from town etc) and gave us the keys to... more

A small family run house, owned by Peter and Minetta. Always friendly, warm and welcoming, they offer excellent accommodation with double, twin and single rooms, all of which are en suite with complimentary toiletries, TV and radio, hair dryer and refreshments (with proper China cups and saucers!). Ideally located for all the local attractions, beach and the town centre, and though... more
