Like in the title, for price and location, YHA Whitby can't be beaten. Situated in the grounds of Whitby Abbey (ask for a free ticket) the hostel is a short walk down the 199 steps to the town center. It's staff are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is a bargain at £5.25. Our room was clean, spacious, comfy... More

These accommodations are located right next to Whitby Abbey, so it was easy for our group to check in, put our things in the rooms and have a look at the Abbey. The rooms have bunk beds and a bathroom - nothing fancy, but we didn't want fancy! There are laundry facilities on site and they let us have access... More

Stayed in room 11, from which I had a perfect view of the abbey lit at night. Gained a free ticket to the abbey just by staying at the hostel. Very friendly staff. Nice tearooms. Lovely conservatory and gardens. Slept well in ready made double bed in my en suite room. Onsite parking. Allgood.

We've stayed here 3 times as a family with 2 children (10 and 5 yrs) and it is perfect. The games room and outside play area are a real hit with children. The hostel is perfectly positioned for walking into Whitby itself as long as you can manage the 199 steps : ) As a guest at the hostel you... More

I stayed at the yha in Whitby on Saturday night after completing the c2c in a day cycle ride, I was with 4 friends, the room we had was very clean, spacious and had a great shower and comfortable beds, just what the doctor ordered after 150 miles in the saddle, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was... Yes, I think I can definitely claim that it's the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I had never felt that safe and at home. The location could not be better, absolutely perfect (even the view from the toilets was beautiful, I'm not even joking - here's a photo as a proof ;)) The staff was really helpful and patient... Wonderful YHA property, great location. Fine views. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were very clean. Good self catering facilities. Amazing walk down 199 steps in Whitby. Stayed Sunday and got a very good deal. Very peaceful and quiet. Free passes into the Abbey for all guests (entrance costs £6.80). Free parking. Meals taken in the Abbey tea rooms, wonderful views. Beautiful... More

The location of this hostel is unbeatable, perched up on top of a hill next to Whitby Abbey and overlooking the sea. The building is steeped in history with some lovely features although it has been used as a institutional building for many years and has suffered a bit as a result. The inside isn't brilliant and is definitely a... More

The best part of this hostel is the views. Both of the Abbey and over Whitby. Its quite strange driving thru the tourist attraction to the hostel. The building is lovely, with a nice conservatory connected to a large lounge. There is also a good self catering kitchen with large dining area. The staff were all very friendly and up... More
