We have just spent the weekend at the Grove from 23rd-26th October and we really enjoyed it. the owners are very good and attentive to yor needs. I have stayed at some great hotels, guest houses etc in my time, however you will not get the level of friendliness and welcome as you would here, whenever I have stayed in Whitby I have kept coming back to the same place (something I normally wouldn’t do). We have been to a large number of hotels of three to five star status over the years. The Grove is a Englsh Tourist Council four star hotel but does not come close to any of the 3 star quality hotels we have used. The room we were allocated was at the top of the house (third floor roof space).... more
