I stayed at this b&b with my husband and dog last week for a one night stay. The owners are really friendly and helpful and were great with the dog. We booked at very short notice and they accommodated us with a lovely room. This place is really clean and well run. They provided us a parking permit for the... More

I arrived at the Seacrest Guesthouse after a long drive from the Isle of Wight. I had chosen this place for all of the usual reasons, price, positive reviews and mainly location. I was starting a new job near Newcastle the next morning. On arrival, I prepared my satnav for the morning journey, this was when I had mistakenly put... More

We stayed at the Seacrest for 2 nights having booked by late rooms.com. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome from the owner and showed to our room. We were lucky to have been given room 2 which was enormous - a king sized double bed with memory foam mattress and a single just for good measure. It... More

We stayed at The Seacrest for 2 nights over Easter. We booked through booking.com and it was the last room which was a family room. Despite there just being 2 of us we booked this room which was large and spacious. Alison did say that if I had contacted them directly they could have got us a smaller room that... More

thanks for your lovely HONEST comments regarding our guesthouse. pity you did not meet igor, but nice to know that the old hound does not smell like one or two others have mentioned. i think sometime people see he is a big boxer dog and make false negative assumptions. well we love him. look forward to your next stay. The property was beautifully done out with a really comfortable bed. We were lucky enough to have the room over looking the Abbey, which was perfect. The breakfast was really well prepared and we were given a warm welcome by the hosts. Will be back.

Just returned from a three day break at the seacrest. Fantastic service and food, our room was very professionally appointed to a high standard. Lovely hosts, even got to meet Igor the hound who has recently been commented on in a previously review. Would like to point out that at no time could I smell dogs. Can't wait to return

Thankyou for your kind comments regarding our decor and hospitality. Everyone has differing tastes and dislikes so it's comforting to know we are doing something right as only one person has had a negative comment on their room , mind you on checking the person in question she has slated everywhere she has stayed. I read the reviews that criticise this landlord for double bookings and consider the writers to be very unfair to him. I made my booking through LateRooms.Com. and the following morning received a call from the landlord to inform me they were already fully booked for my chosen date. The problem is with LateRooms.Com. I opted for a different day... More

Must agree with this issue. Booking agents have made a couple of double booking recently which have caused problems. It is better to book direct with us as you are guaranteed the exact room you book and at a better rate. Let's hope tripadvisor let me print this as when I have tried previously with this review they have stopped... More

Stayed for 1 night, on arrival we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome, we were early and were offered somewhere to store our bags until ready to book in. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable, breakfast next morning we pre-orderd on arrival, full English was cooked to perfection and there was cereal, fresh juice and fresh...
