We have just had a glorious weekend staying in the main building at Red House Farm! When we arrived we were greeted with a pot of tea, plate of biscuits and friendly smiles and chat. Lots of period features bring a charming and welcoming feel to this gorgeous building. It was lovely sitting on the window seat with a cup... More

We stopped at Red House Farm on day 13 of our Coast to Coast walk. The farm comprises a group of buildings dating from the mid-1600s. It is only ¼ mile off the coast to coast path. It no longer operates as a farm but it is still a smallholding with a few longhorn cows, hens and ducks. The main... More

A typical farmhouse B&B how it should be, certainly no comparison to a seaside boarding house! Very quiet and away from it all. Super friendly hosts. Perfect room and facilities. An unbeatable breakfast with choices to suit everybody. Everything that we could have hoped for. Thanks.

A really first choice to stay in this lovely part of the world. Both Sandra and Tom were very helpful and attentive making us feel very welcome and at home. The farm house has great character and we stayed in a beautifully prepared room. Fantastic breakfasts, service and company. Thank you.

We arrived drenched from the rain on our Coast to Coast walk, and Sandra led us straight to the drying room, and from there into the warm and cosy kitchen, where two fellow walkers had arived just before us. A big pot of tea was there to warm us up, and no effort was too much for her and husband... More

Six of us arrived drenched and forlorn after a long day's walk in torrential rain. Sandra could not have been more helpful to our situation and soon had us in her warm kitchen stripping off sodden layers. She turned her boiler room over to us and soon had a load of our socks in her washing machine and lashings of... More

Sandra and Tom were perfect hosts - warm, welcoming, full of local knowledge, and doing everything to make our stay such a wonderful time. The old farmhouse has great character, and the setting in beautiful Glaisdale is a perfect base for walking. Tom's breakfasts set you up well for good, long walks. There are some excellent pubs in the area... More

This is a wonderful B&B. The house dates back to 1748 - which is both a plus and a minus. Plus: it is a beautiful, interesting house with nothing standardised. Minus: one can hear other guests. Other pluses include a billiards room, delicious well-cooked breakfast and very welcoming hosts. Red House Farm is in Glaisdale, which is a very pretty... More
