We've stayed here twice before, and just booked again for a third time. It's very clean, the rooms are very well presented and have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. But of course, as with many guest houses, the attitude of the owner can make or break it, and in this case Jill definitely excels at being a... More

We stayed here for the Easter weekend, it was very cold in Whitby but the b&b was cosy and comfortable. Very nice, would definitely stay again. Nice location, not too far away from the centre and on a quiet street. Our radiator didn't work but this was quickly sorted out for us. Staff very helpful and breakfasts were lovely each... More

My elderly mother and I stayed here for 4 nights in June 2012, we were greeted at the door by Jill who carried our bags to our room (most unexpected!) she informed us about doors, breakfast, and offered any help we required, what a lovely lady!! Our room was a twin, very comfortable and roomy, lovely new bathroom, and decor... More

A very nice and pleasant B&B. Extremely clean and comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. The full English is just right and the service is very good. Bathroom has a good sized shower. Have stayed here many times before (this time on my own as my husband was on a trip... More

We stayed at the Lansbury hotel some time ago and we loved it. It was immaculately clean, comfortable and cosy. We stayed on the top floor so there were many stairs but it was a lovely room and I wouldn't have swapped it. On arrival we were greeted warmly by Jill and showed up to our room where she suggested... More

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Lansbury and I cannot praise it enough. We had a lovely room at the front of the guest house with a super kingsize bed. The room was spotless clean, very nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The breakfast was really good and nice and hot. There was plenty of... More

We had a three night stay at the Lansbury during the last weekend in October. The proprieter was incredibly warm and welcomming and the very pleasant accomodation was immaculately clean. Full English breakfast was excellent and included ample fresh fruit, not just the usual tinned grapefruit. Our only criticism was the frugality of the heating. This was a cold October... More

My partner and I stayed here in October 2012. We were greeted by Jill upon our arrival like we were friends popping round for a cup of tea! We were shown to our room and made to feel really at home. There was lots of information around to help us work out what we wanted to do during our stay... More

We stayed at the Lansbury for three nights in September, and this was an ideal base for discovering both the coast and the fantastic North Yorkshire moors. We stayed in Room 8, a converted attic room (watch those low sloping ceilings!) which was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and had plenty of storage space. A couple of niggles (although we didn’t... More

What a wonderful B&B to stay in. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and most of all exceptionally good value. We stayed in Room 5 for 3 nights. It was a good sized room with an enormous comfy bed with the softest sheets we have ever experienced. The ensuite was spacious and very clean. There was a good sized television too. It... More
