Desperately disappointing experience. Falls woefully short of what is promised on its website. Grubby, dilapidated, dark, damp. Biggest joke was the pitifully limited menu option for the dinner/bed/breakfast 'deal'. Food was actually ok but nothing special. Left after 1 night.. It is pretty appalling- a total rip-off. more

We stayed in room 2, a ground floor bedroom with disabled facilities adjacent to the car park. This cost £100 for one night B&B for two persons. Just returned from staying one night at this hotel. The pictures on the site looked great, reality was not so good. The public places of this old coaching inn looked inviting, and bar meals were good but a bit pricey. Breakfast was excellent. We had a lovely stay here. The food was nice and the staff very pleasant. The room itself was a very good size and nice a clean. This place has a lovely atmosphere about it that is so missing in the more sterile boutique style establishments that are appearing everywhere. more

This place could be fantastic with lots of charm & character & is a potential gold mine, but it is in desperate need of expert refurbishment to retain the olde worlde feel.
