The Station Hotel Norwich – The place is absolutely disgusting – not sure where to start – but here goes - Bare electrical wiring on the bathroom ceiling where the pull cord had been removed & replaced by a conventional light switch on the wall (is that legal?). Bathroom door would not stay closed (best you could get is 6... More

Arrived at the hotel about 10pm on 14/8/14 Check in was quick. Was given a single room (9) on the ground floor. Room was basic but I expected that. I wasn't looking for luxury. Bathroom was small. Had trouble getting the shower to give hot water so went to reception. Got it working in the end but shower needed to... More

The first thing I noticed was the smell and the second was the grubby, worn carpet and general air of neglect. A narrow staircase led to the room with its cracked and missing tiles, view of the dustbins and continuing smell. Tried the bed briefly - the floor would have been as comfortable if it had been clean. Decided I... More

I'm exaggerating for effect, but the Saturday night of my 4-night stay was just noise; from the thugs shouting "OI OI!" at 2.30am, to the owner and his mate talking loudly outside my bedroom window at 8am, it was by a good night. That coupled with the hardest mattress I've ever slept on; to attain any sort of comfort I... More

So, I booked this place with some trepidation. It was very last minute and there was very little left that was central and not ridiculously expensive. The reviews on this site were not encouraging but beggars can't be choosers - so I booked it. Three nights, my wife and I. We weren't expecting 5 star luxury and we didn't get... More

Booked for a night out in the city, only thing going for it is the location and free parking. Couldn't get in the door at night, couldn't lock the bedroom door, no bath mat, hand towels, 1 power plug! Decor tired and dirty. Great for a bed for the night but that's it

This hotel is absolutely freezing cold, shower room floor is filthy. No hand towels or floor mats and has the hard neck to rate itself as 3 star on late rooms. Supposed to be staying for 3 nights but going to move to somewhere else this morning. Would have had a better nights sleep in my car dreading even attempting... More

Old-fashioned terrible decor with bare white walls made for a very unhomely stay. Pretty grubby in all corners of the room and en-suite. It says there is free wifi but actually my room had no signal unless I sat on the floor by the door! No soap in the bathroom, let alone the shower gel and shampoo you might expect... More

This is an economy hotel but represents good value for the money. The room was small but clean and in decent condition with a more than adequate bathroom. Parts of the hotel (corridors etc.) could do with some refurbishment but this appears to be in hand as redecoration was taking place when I stayed. Decent breakfast and pleasant helpful staff!

Economical hotel with the added bonus of a good breakfast. No frills, very basic with a few niggles but for those looking for a bed for the night with a good location- The Station Hotel fits the bill.
