Had a family meal here and i didnt realise id ordered a plate of grease with a side of mixed grill, the chips were good quality and my partners scampi was good and the kids meal was a particularly good portion (i didnt try it.). Food is quite expensive and the drinks can be a bit eye popping.

My partner and I decided to stop off for dinner and the moment you walk in the place looks out dated in the conservatory was tool boxes blocking most of the room and a large puddle of water by the back door, the menu was very basic, my partner ordered prawn cocktail when it arrived there was shell in the... Have reviewed this place before, seven of us for lunch, table booked for 1.45 but we couldnt be seated until nearly 2, and then at a table other than that intended (and inferior position), and no one came to take order until 2.20 and we got our first food at 2.40, nearly an hour after time of booking. The food... More

When we arrived the staff were wonderful and this was how it stayed for the whole weekend. I am a Pernod drinker so when they only had enough for one drink on our arrival, they sent out a staff member to buy another. Big tick from me, I don't drink much or often, so that was real special treatment. Rooms... More

We visited the Blue Boar for dinner as a group of 6 with vegetarians and meat eaters. The menu offered a good selection for us all, which is most difficult to find, so that was very nice to see. We all opted for different options and I had the vegetarian enchiladas with chips and salad. The meal was lovely, however... More

we have eaten here several times and the food is good. However being temporarily in a wheechair I discovered there is no disabled toilet ! The apologetic barman suggested neaby Tesco as being the nearest disabled toilet venue. There is a ramp to the front door but this is followed by a raised door surround which is hard to get a... More

We visited here with my disabled Mother-In-Law and two young children recently. The staff were friendly and helpful, and looked after us well. The pub has a large garden with a play park that is a great asset - the children enjoyed the park, although they were more taken with just exploring the garden! This was a winter visit, but... More

Booked for a meal with friends. As December, expected to have to wait and thought service may not be as good as the place was pretty full. How wrong can you be? Order was taken from friendly waitress and food was delivered very promptly. All food was very well presented, delicious and hot! Well done to all staff who I... More

Thank you so much for your kind words. I have shown our team your review and, needless to say, they are delighted. They work so hard all year but especially in December and, as you say, "are still smiling". More
